.The year is winding down and Christmas is around the corner but here on the blog, Christmas has come early as we have another installment of our famed segment, the Bucket Babe! Today's model hails from the smoke smoke, aka Johannesburg. She's a student, looking to become a social worker as she is passionate on helping others, animals also have a close place to her heart. BIO

Hello, my name is Abigail Ackerman, I am 22 years old and I am studying social work because I love the thought of being able to help as many people as possible. With this I would like to eventually open up a rehab for adolescents with substance abuse problems and mental illness. I love dancing and through my life I've done ballet, modern and hip hop, I also really love drama and art. I am vegetarian because of my love for animals and I have grown up being taught nothing but compassion and love for animals and people. During my life I have received rewards for community service, for which I enjoy volunteering at old age homes and animal shelters, as well as  for public speaking. I also am a bit of a party animal and will never turn down a festival or a night out.

1. Hot girls and hot cars go hand in hand, what ride would you like to  see yourself in?

• G63 AMG is my absolute dream car, Matt silver with red interior, got it all planned out!

2. What sandwich are you most likely to make for me? and will it be toasted or plain?

• I can't cook so, cheese and tomato okay? 

3. Everyone loves popcorn (well I think they do) what is your topping/ sprinkle of choice?

• I usually put every spice on my popcorn at the movies, but that's probably something I shouldn't tell people.

4. Dream cover shoot?

• The day I'm on the cover of anything will be a dream come true. But Vogue is definitely the end goal... crossing fingers!

5. If given a choice, full time model or full time executive, what would you choose?

• Full time model for sure.  

6. Growing up you must have had someone you aspired to be, so who is your role model?

• I find this question so difficult, I don't think that I have one role model but I have so many amazing people in my life who I look up to and even a lot of celebrities. Usually the people I admire are compassionate always willing to do and learn new things and have respect for everyone regardless of who they are - that's what I value in a person.

7. Anyone holding that hand yet? or is it available?

• No one is holding it, but its' not available either, haha!

8. Obviously being a female you would love fashion. Favourite label/ designer?

• Moschino has always been one of my favourite labels - I love how vibrant and eccentric it is. 

9. What type of music gets your booty shaking?

• Any music gets my booty shaking but I think I'd have to say that hip hop and EDM are at the top of my playlist.

10. Which city is your dream party destination?

• Oh wow, I have so many! Ibiza, Los and Tomorrowland in Belgium... just to name a few.

Bucket Babe: Terushka Venkatsamy

As Winter strengthens its grip around the nation with its icy claws, its time for us to warm things up on the blog with another installment of the Bucket Babe. This month's featured beauty hails from the warm waters of the East Coast and coincidentally grew up in my neighborhood and schooled at the same school as me. She went on to complete her studies in Fashion design and upon a work trip was scouted and trusted into the modeling world. Since then she's been featured in a number of publications, local and abroad and has even dabbled in a bit of acting which she looks to further her career in. She's got a great taste in cars, fashion, music and food, especially when it comes to sandwiches, anyway that's enough from me, I'll let her take it from here. 

Terushka Venketsamy

Bio

My name is Terushka Venkatsamy, born in Durban, based in Cape Town most of the year and travel for work. I studied a BA in Fashion and design, it was for women-wear design, I got scouted in India whilst on a trip to buy textiles, to a model and did a random casting and there-after was selected for a reality TV show called 'The Hunt For the Kingfisher Calendar Girl', then the rest as they say is history. I studied acting in Cape Town for 2 years and it is a huge passion of mine. I have signed with international agencies, modeled in Turkey, Mumbai, Hong Kong and Prague for magazines, catalogue, lingerie, commercials for several brands including EY, Merrel, Triumph, Kellogs, Castle Lite, Carling, BMW and many stills.

I love to run, do yoga, boxing, hiking, adventure related activities such as road trips, I also love to cook, watch movies and series, Some of my other passions are writing, reading, travel, cultures, fine dining and cuisine, humanitarian work, fashion, design, architecture, interiors...all things design orientated regarding line, texture, colour and form. 

I'm a foreign English language teacher, a beautiful way to get involved in community work/ humanitarian work and I love working with kids. I also run shot rentals and involved in  property in Cape Town. Future goals would be to start another business, to teach English in Panama, live in LA, climb Machu Picchu and have a girls Europe trip with my sister Himarsha Venkatsamy and my two best friends, Lauren and Sulshine...probably to Ibiza and Barcelona!

Bucket Babe: Nicola du Plessis

It's that time of the month where we bring to you one of the countries hottest beauties, 2016 was a good year but 2017 seems to be following the trend and could be even better! Kicking off our Bucket Babe segment for the year is a local lass who I first spotted at the Shimmy Beach photo shoot last year, she was among our close friends of the blog Lee-Ann Roberts, Kerry Lee Cousins and Tracy McGregor. If not on the beach in a bikini, you can find this blonde hair beauty getting rough and tough in the outdoors and that shows in her taste in cars, she is also studying part time and looking to further her modelling career abroad all whilst seeing to business on the side. 

Nicola du Plessis

Bio

I'm Nicola Luzya du Plessis but everyone calls me Tila. I am with ICE Genetics modeling agency. I study part time through UNISA in Fashion and Retail management. I absolutely love the outdoors as my other half and myself go for a hike every Sunday, we love taking our dogs for walks. In my free time I like to look around for more income sources, as it's always nice to have extra income on the side. I'm part of the FabFive,  we are a few girls on board where we create a new marketing strategy though working through the girls "Brand Marketing".

For almost 2 years I've been struggling to go overseas for modeling because of various reasons but in June I'll be heading to London, which is very exciting and I cannot wait.

Bucket Babe: Kayla Pretorius

As we enter the final few weeks of 2016, many will reflect back on what a crappy year it's been. From falling economies, corrupt presidents, plane crashes and so forth, the human race needs some cheering up and what better way to do so that with the final instalment of the Bucket Babe for 2016! Today's featured model is a woman of many talents, she's travelled and studied abroad, but returned to the country to complete her studies and pursue her passion. She's a car enthusiast and outdoors person but also doesn't mind some online gaming sessions. Anyway, enough from me, lets hear from her!

Kayla Pretorius

Bio

So about myself, where do I begin? I matriculated in 2012 where I then moved to Milano, Italy (at the age of 18) in 2013 to study Fashion Styling and Photography. My love for fashion broadened and I was desperate to learn more about the industry. I missed beautiful, sunny SA and moved to Cape Town to further my studies in Fashion Design at FEDISA, Cape Town. I completed my degree this year, at the age of 22, and plan on working and travelling the world while gaining experience in my career field. The first stop is Bali, Indonesia!

My dreams and aspirations are anything but small - I have achieved many of my set goals but still have a long way to go and I am so excited for the journey ahead. I don't want to disclose much but big things are coming, so watch this space!

I am a complete Gemini - I have a super girly side that adores fashion, makeup, heels and shopping, in comparison to my super tomboy side that loves anything and everything to do with motorbikes, cars and speed. I love a little fun at the shooting range (I secretly wish I was an international super spy) as well as indulging in my guilty pleasure - GTA V Online.

I absolutely love the outdoors, especially being on the beach or in the ocean ( I was a mermaid in my past life). Dogs are most definitely my kryptonite and find their way to my heart. I LOVE cooking for friends and family! I LOVE food - Any IYO burger and cold Freshly brewed beer are my faaaaav! I have  a big heart and am extremely loyal to those I care about - I will move mountains for them! Socializing and meeting new people are one of my favourite pass times - some of my favourite hangouts are outdoor festivals, Yours Truly, IYO, Caprice, HQ, The Grand, Aces 'n Spades, Arcade - anywhere with a good vibe and good music really!

• I am a die-hard muscle car lover- definitely a coin flip between a '69 Ford Mustang and a 1970 Dodge Challenger.

• Angelina Jolie and Lady Gaga - Both these woman care for matters further than themselves which I find truly inspiring, especially in the industry they're in. They are the epitome of beauty, brains and compassion.
