Ultra South Africa 2023

After close to a three year absence, South Africa's biggest dance music festival returns in 2023! Yes, Ultra South Africa is back to hit the African continent in March next year, bringing you the biggest names in the electronic dance music industry to perform live, in our backyard. Interesting to note that South Africa was the only country to host an Ultra festival in 2020 prior to the world going into lockdown and while the world has slowly opened up and eased restrictions since March this year, most of the festivals in the Americas and Europe had us suffering with major FOMO while we sat and watched them on the live streams so you can only imagine how much us locals are raring to go!

Ultra SA 2023 in its 8th edition will be hosted in the two host cities as normal, starting with Cape Town on the 10th of March 2023, at a new venue of Kenilworth Racecourse and the following day, March 11th in Johannesburg at the Expo Centre in Nasrec. Tickets are on sale now, via the official website, www.ultrasouthafrica.com with tier 1 tickets selling out fast for both venues! So avoid disappointment and register for your Ultra Passport now!

Monday Choon: Martin Garrix & Dyro - Latency

It's Ultra South Africa week! This Friday see's the biggest electronic dance event on the continent kick off things in Cape Town at the Ostrich Farm before making it's way to Johannesburg at the Nasrec Expo Center. Today we feature a firm Ultra SA favourite, Martin Garrix as he returns to make his 4th appearance headlining at Ultra South Africa. His track featuring Dyro is our pick ahead of this weeks festivities, its a song that for me shows what Martin Garrix's music and style is all about. His mixtures of techno and hardstyle is a fresh rendition of the music of today. He's had some notable collabs over the years which seen him mature into the artist he is today. While he has headlined the first three Ultra South Africa's, this time round we're going to experience a different sort of Garrix and personally I cannot wait.

Ultra South Africa 2019 - Phase 2 Line Up

The 6th edition of Ultra South Africa is already causing quite a stir even with the event still being 4 months away. The Phase 2 artist line-up was announced on Monday and it has many a big reason to smile, some old and some new headliners will be heading our way next year March and the biggest name for sure has to be Above & Beyond. Legends in the industry, they are known worldwide for their uplifting sounds and their popular record labels Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep. The English trio of Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamaki will have audiences in enthralled with their set which is bound to be epic given their last few festivals they've played at.

SA's favourite Martin Garrix is back again to Ultra South Africa line-up, it seems as if he cannot get enough of our country and we don't mind. The Dutch DJ sensation is sure to be lining up some new tracks and some of his old stuff to get the crowd going. Other noteworthy mentions is Vini Vici who has worked with some big names in the industry, none bigger than Armin van Buuren, some of his work include Free Tibet, United and Chakra which he worked on with W&W. SA house fans will be pleased to know that our very own Black Coffee will be headlining the Resistance stage and he will be joined with the likes of Culoe De Song, Da Capo, Kususa, I am Themba and many more.
