It's almost November! But instead of wondering where the year has gone, we like to sit back and reflect on how it went, plus there's still over 2 months left so lets make the most of it! We know this segment has taken a bit of a back seat of late but we're proud to have it back and with it, a fresh new face to the South African modeling scene. Today's featured beauty hails from the North but has found a new home in Stellenbosch where she is currently completing her studies. While she doesn't consider herself hot, she is a stunner of note and we're glad to have her featured today.

I am living in my dream town to study, Stellenbosch. I am studying Visual Communication Design with the university. I am originally from Pretoria, Gauteng. I am 19 years old and I absolutely love travelling and exploring places. I enjoy eating out at trendy restaurants and I love keeping active. I enjoy hikes, gym and running. I love being in front and behind of a camera! My goals for the future include opening my own vibey restaurant and being more involved with modeling. I thoroughly enjoy doing collaborations with photographers and filmmakers. Recently I did two "music" videos with Scott Hurly and would love for you to check those out! Links are below.

1. Hot girls and hot cars go hand in hand, what ride would you like to  see yourself in?

• I would not classify myself as a 'hot girl' but I classify a hot car as the Audi R8. Wouldn't mind owning one of those.

2. What sandwich are you most likely to make for me? and will it be toasted or plain?

• Hands down a toasted rye with mince and cheese. 

3. Everyone loves popcorn (well I think they do) what is your topping/ sprinkle of choice?

• Salt and vinegar with Astros....

4. Dream cover shoot?

• Women's Health or Vogue would be pretty cool!

5. If given a choice, full time model or full time executive, what would you choose?

• Full time model.

6. Growing up you must have had someone you aspired to be, so who is your role model?

• Growing up I admired many people, mostly actresses and singers. When growing up my role models constantly changed. Keira Knightley was an actress I aspired to be as a young girl .

7. Anyone holding that hand yet? or is it available?

• At the moment the hand is free.

8. Obviously being a female you would love fashion. Favourite label/ designer?

• Obessed with Topshop. I aslo found this gorgeous bikini boutique in Mykonos called Lara Modamare! Fashion is such a lovely way to express one self..

9. What type of music gets your booty shaking?

• I enjoy techno and trance but I am very open-minded when it comes to music. It also depends on what kind of night I am planning on having!

10. Which city is your dream party destination?

• Perhaps Ibiza in Spain!

Bucket Seat: Ford Invest in South Africa

Even though the current political climate in the country is at a boiling point with Parliament in turmoil after the recent constitutional court judgement against the president, it's good to see major investment being made to the country. Yesterday speaking at Ford Motor Company's Assembly plant in Silverton, Pretoria, Ford's executive vice president and president of Europe, Middle East and Africa, Jim Farley announced that company will be expanding operations at the plant with an investment of R2.5 billion!

This investment and expansion will mean an extra 1,200 jobs at Ford SA and within the South African supplier network. The plant will see itself after completion of the expansion produce the all new Ford Ranger and Everest, of which both were launched in the last quarter of 2015. Along with this, the market will also receive a new engine line up for the Everest which includes a 2.2 litre Duratorq TDCi four cylinder diesel engine. "Our customers love the capability and utility offered by the all-new Ford Everest. By producing the Everest in South Africa, we will be able to make it more readily available, and in greater variety of models for customers throughout Sub-Saharan Africa." - Jim Farley.

The plant currently exports the Ford Ranger to 148 countries in Africa, Middle East and Europe, and supplies Argentina, Thailand, North America, India and China  with engines and machined equipment. Last year at Ford's Go Further Summit held in Sandton, they pledged their alliance with the continent growth by confirming that they would assemble the new Ranger in Nigeria, using semi knock-down (SKD) kits and components imported from South Africa.

It's great that Ford Motor Company is showing interest in investing in our country, the demand for their product is here and if they can improve service and delivery times of vehicles for the market as well as create jobs while doing that only serves as a massive boost for our economy. Also with the Everest expanding it's engine line-up, gives the consumer more choice in decided their perfect SUV and takes the competition directly to their competitors. 

Monster Supercross Africa

On the November 1st, the hallowed turf of Loftus Versveld will be transformed from a lush green surface to sand track motor cross arena! The Monster Energy Supercross series makes it's way to Africa and features a star studded line up with 45 riders from all over the world competiting for the biggest prize purse in SA Motorsport history!

Most of the line up consists of local riders but the international contingent boasts some big names, most notably Josh Hill, the winner of the Sweden Supercross which was held recently. Jake Weimer, Ryan Villoptos former team are both going to be here as well. The full list of riders can be found on the website.  Grant Langston, former World MX Champion and Durban born will be on the mic alongside Laren van der Westhuizen bring you the live commentarty.

                     

Besides the action on the field, be sure to keep an eye out for the action off the field, I'm talking about the moster girls in particular! They'll be out in full force as well. It's sure to be a great day out with plenty of entertaining and mind blowing racing.

Red Bull X-Fighters: Pretoria

A couple of months ago my friend Kaptein Kai from Cape Town was down in Durbs and in true Durban fashion I took him out for a bunny chow. Whilst enjoyed the best fusion of curry and bread on offer, he mentioned to me that Red Bull X-Fighters has been confirmed for South Africa and we should go. Now being an Indian, majority of us are not into the "extreme sports", hell the most extreme thing you'd catch an Indian guy doing is wheel spins after he beat someone at the drags. Now I have been to a few Red Bull events in the past and to say they were pretty rad is an understatement, so I decided to dig up more info on this one.

Red Bull X-Fighters is a freestyle motocross stunt competition where competitors from all over the world face off in an area,, bullring or a venue that is similar. The venues chosen are ones that bring the crowd as close to the action as possible as there is some interaction with them, when they like what they see, they can wave a white flag. The first competition took place in 2001, Valencia, Spain at the bull fighting arena and the competition has made its way around the globe since then, travelling to countries such as Mexico, England, Brazil, USA, Poland, Australia and now they're coming to Pretoria! Now I know I said many Indians aren't into this type of sport, well I meant us local South African ones because the biggest recorded crowd at an X-Fighters event was 230,000 ....in Sri Lanka. Then again, one of the most used transport in the subcontinent is the motorbike, so it makes sense.

Coming back to the Pretoria leg, the event will be held on Saturday the 7th of September at the Union Buildings! They couldn't have chose a better venue if you ask me, just imagine the bikers free styling through the air with that landmark in the back, its going to be epic! It will be the last stop of the 2013 tour and tickets are on sale from Computicket now! So don't miss out on this amazing event!
