Corona SunSets Festival Durban 2019

In it's second year running, Corona SunSets Festival Durban proved to be another success with it selling out on the day. 5,000 revelers partied the night away at the Shongweni Polo Club to the sounds of some of SA's best artists. The weather was brilliant and made for an epic SunSet moment, which was enjoyed by all present with an ice cold Corona in hand. This years SunSets festival saw the addition of a new stage, the Crown stage which was an indoor dance floor that added to the magic and ensured festival goers had an experience they would not forget. It was a much welcomed addition and was well received as crowd favourites like Strange Loving, Benny Maverick and Durban's own Coco Loco hit the decks.

With the anticipation of a bigger crowd, organizers ensured that no one went waiting for their favourite refreshing Corona or cocktails as there were plenty of bars and top up stands to load more credit on your wrist bands. The Food Village was amazing as well, catering for every ones tastes and cravings! From pizzas, to pancakes, coffee's and cakes it had it all!

The VIP area also got bigger with a lower deck in view of the main Griffin stage and it's mesmerizing mandala. Due to a sudden illness, headline act Felix Jehan had to cancel last minute but local DJ Culoe De Song was on hand to close out an epic festival. Before him the guys from Mi Casa had the crowd buzzing and jiving with their hits. Belgium DJ the Magician stole the show for me though, his mix of groovy and deep house beats just set the mood for a perfect evening out. Overall this years Corona SunSets Festival in Durban proved to be raving success for both organizers and attendees. Hopefully this will put Durban in a good position to see the Festival return for a 3rd year in 2020 but for now, Joburg you're next! 7 December see's Fisher and Nora en Pure take over Corona SunSets Johannesburg and it's sure to be an epic one!

His latest track has been the centre of most of the advertising campaigns for this weekends Festival and is one that is sure to get the crowd going when the sun goes down. Featuring Piso 21,here is Robin Schulz with 'Oh Child'.

BMW International Polo Series - Durban

Before I attended last year's BMW International Polo Series at Shongweni, I knew as much about Polo as the average woman knew about the offside rule in football. Not to say that I've become an overnight expert on the sport, lets just say I know a Chukka is a time period in the game and not an abbreviated name for Chakalaka. Also that the sport isn't a lazy man's sport where he makes the horse do all the work, well the do make the horse run a lot but it also takes loads of skill, timing and precision.

This year the series plays host to New Zealand with the first test coming up this weekend in Durban at the Shongweni Polo Club, with the second test being played in Johannesburg at the Waterfall Polo Estate. It's the 26th year of partnership between BMW South Africa and the SA Polo Assosciation, this being one of the longest running consecutive sports sponsorships in South Africa. With this sponsorship, it gives SA Polo the opportunity to invite international opponents for the tests on our shores as well as invest in the development of polo through its transformation policy.

New Zealand will be sending a 23 goal team to SA to compete. Their team will be captain by well-known John Paul Clarkin who currently plays off an 8 goal handicap. It will be the sixth tour by a New Zealand Polo team to South Africa in this series, with the touring team being victorious on the previous occasion. South Africa will have everything to play for this year as I'm sure they will be seeking to change that stat. I will be there this Sunday at Shongweni to enjoy the game as well as the festivities that go along with it.

If you would like to join in on the event, tickets are now on sale and can be purchased via the SA Polo Association website with bank seating, picnic spots and marquee tables available. Apart from the Polo, you can also look forward to seeing some of the spectacular models on display from the German luxury manufacturer. It's sure to be a great day out for the entire family.
