Corona SunSets Festival Durban 2019

In it's second year running, Corona SunSets Festival Durban proved to be another success with it selling out on the day. 5,000 revelers partied the night away at the Shongweni Polo Club to the sounds of some of SA's best artists. The weather was brilliant and made for an epic SunSet moment, which was enjoyed by all present with an ice cold Corona in hand. This years SunSets festival saw the addition of a new stage, the Crown stage which was an indoor dance floor that added to the magic and ensured festival goers had an experience they would not forget. It was a much welcomed addition and was well received as crowd favourites like Strange Loving, Benny Maverick and Durban's own Coco Loco hit the decks.

With the anticipation of a bigger crowd, organizers ensured that no one went waiting for their favourite refreshing Corona or cocktails as there were plenty of bars and top up stands to load more credit on your wrist bands. The Food Village was amazing as well, catering for every ones tastes and cravings! From pizzas, to pancakes, coffee's and cakes it had it all!

The VIP area also got bigger with a lower deck in view of the main Griffin stage and it's mesmerizing mandala. Due to a sudden illness, headline act Felix Jehan had to cancel last minute but local DJ Culoe De Song was on hand to close out an epic festival. Before him the guys from Mi Casa had the crowd buzzing and jiving with their hits. Belgium DJ the Magician stole the show for me though, his mix of groovy and deep house beats just set the mood for a perfect evening out. Overall this years Corona SunSets Festival in Durban proved to be raving success for both organizers and attendees. Hopefully this will put Durban in a good position to see the Festival return for a 3rd year in 2020 but for now, Joburg you're next! 7 December see's Fisher and Nora en Pure take over Corona SunSets Johannesburg and it's sure to be an epic one!

Corona SunSets Festival 2017 - Cape Town

Following the success of last years event at the scenic shores of Clifton beach, Corona SunSets Festival is back to leave goers mesmerised by deep house sounds and one of the most picturesque sunsets you will see on the African continent. I can personally vouch for this Festival after attending last years and can definitely say it is one that is not to be missed. Even if you aren't the biggest fan of deep house, just the location and the vibe will have you in awe. Set just above the shores of the Atlantic, is the Bungalow in Clifton, with Lions head as your backdrop and the 12 Apostles behind you, it doesn't get better than this. Add to it some awesome decor as well and a line up of the hottest local and international DJ's, throw in some ice cold Corona's and you have one epic jol. The line up for the Festival has been announced and has Jonas Blue and Klingande as headliners with a variety of local support acts which include Timo ODV, MiCasa and Strange Loving. Tickets are on sale now, at NuTickets so get yours now to avoid disappointmend.

Corona SunSets Festival 2016

As far as musical festivals has to go, I can confidently say that last Friday's Corona Sunsets Festival was easily one of the best I've attended. Whilst it might not be the biggest, it did draw close to 6,000 people, couple that with the most gorgeous setting and venue for an event, add some of the best artists locally and internationally and you have yourself one hell of a show! The setting couldn't be more perfect, The Bungalow in Clifton, nestled on the coastline of the Atlantic with Lions head over looking and the 12 Apostles on the side, it really was stunning setting. The set up was just as awesome, with the SunSet projection stage having the back of Lions head behind it, dance floor prepped with beach sand, shaded areas for you to chill in and a host of bars serving ice cold Corona's or Corona inspired cocktails and food stalls for those in attendance. For those who wanted something a little extra, there was the VIP area at the Bungalow.

There's a lot to celebrate with local SA music and that was evident from the stellar line up, with Tresor, Cara Frew, Kyle Deutsche, Sketchy Bongo, Strange Loving, Crazy Whiteboy and Kyle Watson taking charge of the stage till sunset, when the international headliners took over. First up was Sam Feldt, the Dutch DJ who was accompanied by a violinist on stage really got the crowd going with  his hits such as Runaways and Summer on You. Next up was a local lass who has been making quite a name for herself abroad, Nora En Pure her track Back to the Beach was a firm favourite with many and she even dropped her latest track 'Diving with Whales', onto the finale for the night, the much anticipated Duke Dumont, performing for the first time in the country really stole the show. It was everything we anticipated and more. The awesome projections onto the main stage were mesmerizing to say the least and the show ended with a brilliant flame and pyrotechnic exhibition but nothing to loud or big to disturb the locals.

Honestly, this was one of the best events I've been to, quality all around, from set up to the artists and venue. If Corona SunSets comes back in 2017, you can bet your bottom dollar I'd be back there again...with more sunblock this time round though.
