Bucket Babe: Kayla Pretorius

As we enter the final few weeks of 2016, many will reflect back on what a crappy year it's been. From falling economies, corrupt presidents, plane crashes and so forth, the human race needs some cheering up and what better way to do so that with the final instalment of the Bucket Babe for 2016! Today's featured model is a woman of many talents, she's travelled and studied abroad, but returned to the country to complete her studies and pursue her passion. She's a car enthusiast and outdoors person but also doesn't mind some online gaming sessions. Anyway, enough from me, lets hear from her!

Bio

So about myself, where do I begin? I matriculated in 2012 where I then moved to Milano, Italy (at the age of 18) in 2013 to study Fashion Styling and Photography. My love for fashion broadened and I was desperate to learn more about the industry. I missed beautiful, sunny SA and moved to Cape Town to further my studies in Fashion Design at FEDISA, Cape Town. I completed my degree this year, at the age of 22, and plan on working and travelling the world while gaining experience in my career field. The first stop is Bali, Indonesia!

My dreams and aspirations are anything but small - I have achieved many of my set goals but still have a long way to go and I am so excited for the journey ahead. I don't want to disclose much but big things are coming, so watch this space!

I am a complete Gemini - I have a super girly side that adores fashion, makeup, heels and shopping, in comparison to my super tomboy side that loves anything and everything to do with motorbikes, cars and speed. I love a little fun at the shooting range (I secretly wish I was an international super spy) as well as indulging in my guilty pleasure - GTA V Online.

I absolutely love the outdoors, especially being on the beach or in the ocean ( I was a mermaid in my past life). Dogs are most definitely my kryptonite and find their way to my heart. I LOVE cooking for friends and family! I LOVE food - Any IYO burger and cold Freshly brewed beer are my faaaaav! I have  a big heart and am extremely loyal to those I care about - I will move mountains for them! Socializing and meeting new people are one of my favourite pass times - some of my favourite hangouts are outdoor festivals, Yours Truly, IYO, Caprice, HQ, The Grand, Aces 'n Spades, Arcade - anywhere with a good vibe and good music really!

1. Hot girls and hot cars go hand in hand, what ride would you like to  see yourself in?

• I am a die-hard muscle car lover- definitely a coin flip between a '69 Ford Mustang and a 1970 Dodge Challenger.

2. What sandwich are you most likely to make for me? and will it be toasted or plain?

• I LOVE making food so it all depends on my mood but the go-to is definitely a toastie with avo, chicken, pepper dews, cheese, feta and Italian herbs!

3. Everyone loves popcorn (well I think they do) what is your topping/ sprinkle of choice?

• Cheese n chives with a box of smarties.

4. Dream cover shoot?

• World Swimsuit/ Sports Illustrated

5. If given a choice, full time model or full time executive, what would you choose?

• Full time executive - I am quite career driven and love challenging myself as well as keeping busy.

6. Growing up you must have had someone you aspired to be, so who is your role model?

• Angelina Jolie and Lady Gaga - Both these woman care for matters further than themselves which I find truly inspiring, especially in the industry they're in. They are the epitome of beauty, brains and compassion.

7. Anyone holding that hand yet? or is it available?

• Definitely maybe

• Alexander McQueeen

9. What type of music gets your booty shaking?

• My taste in music varies from old school rap to indie to techno and deep house.

Bucket Babe: Daisy May

As we descend upon the Easter festivities and be thankful for the 4 day weekend, much so we can party all night and sleep all day, we have something else to keep you occupied over the long weekend. As you know we bring you the hottest ladies that South Africa has to offer and today's featured model is so hot, her hair is actually red. Okay that was lame, our flaming red head this week is none other than Daisy May, her bubbly persona is evident in her writing and her walks in life has taught her a lot so far and she's ready to take on any challenge. Anyway, less from me and more from her! by the way, Daisy is taking part in the WorldSwimsuit Model Search competition, so lets do the right thing and vote to see her get featured in this years issue, voting links can be found below. 

Daisy May

Daisy has this life thing sewn up. The Paarl-born fashion maven grew up in Somerset West wondering: just how much can you wring from the world? So she put it to the test. 

Teaching English in Bangkok? Check. Selling real estate in London's fabled Notting Hill? Yep! Co-founding a super-successful retail food chain with her father? Sure thing! Descending on Antarctica at the helm of an icebreaker? Well, obviously. Inventing a time machine and hunting velociraptors in the Cretaceous Period? Okay maybe not that. But one day. Sigh.

Now, over 29 countries worth of travelling later, she has come back to an old flame: fashion. Daisy was exposed early to the sartorial world, having started modelling when she was young. She soon found she had as much of a flair for the goings-on behind the camera as she did for being in front of it. Realising she had a wealth of ideas that nobody else was capturing, she started putting together photo shoots and gathering the experience required to be a creative director. 

You can see where this is heading, can't you? Her travels having fully stocked her creativity silos, Daisy decided it was time to start a completely new venture that would give her the airspace to combine her writing, creativity, modelling, business acumen and love for fashion, travel and interior design - not to mention her uncanny instinct for the shifting currents of trend. And thanks to her extensive journeying, she has a comprehensive mind-library of cultural expertise to draw on throughout.

So it was that Real Life Styled was born: a platform where fashion, decor and lifestyle could come together into a glossy magazine with heart and a pulse. Relatable and aimed at everyone who wants to be the best version of themselves, Real Life Styled offers real life advice for real life people, and tips from someone who really has walked the talk. 

Bio

I'm Daisy May, a model and actress from Cape Town, South Africa. I've been in the industry since I was 16 and been lucky enough to travel the world and work with many famous faces.

I like to keep busy and motivated so I'm always busy with lots of different projects alongside my modeling and acting.  Last year I started up my blog, Real Life Styled. Its been an amazing journey and I even managed to shoot a story in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I'm a very visual person so its been great story boarding and styling my own ideas as well as using my business side to hustle and give Real Life Styled the platform it deserves.

This year has kicked off with a bang, I've been working loads and getting more and more into my acting. I love being able to play different roles and become a different character. I've started filming for a new post apocalyptic series called Spelonk, so keep an eye out for this redheaded rebel girl.

I've also entered the WorldSwimsuit Model Search which is something I wouldn't normally do. I'm not one of those people who enters beauty competitions but I've always loved the publication and I think it is an amazing opportunity so I couldn't help myself but drive in head first.

The response has been great so far and I am so humbled by every single vote by every person who has helped me along the way. I still need as many votes as I can get so I hope everyone keeps them coming. VOTE DAISY MAY, every hour, every day!

1. Hot girls and hot cars go hand in hand, what ride would you like to  see yourself in?

• I love vintage cars, I'm currently driving a BMW Z3 M Series but my ultimate car right now would be an Aston Martin DB10.

2. What sandwich are you most likely to make for me? and will it be toasted or plain?

• I love cheese so it would have to be an American styled grilled cheese toasted sandwich. If you're lucky, you'll get some crispy bacon and caramelised banana on that. 

3. Everyone loves popcorn (well I think they do) what is your topping/ sprinkle of choice?

• I'm definitely a plain salted girl. I always end up putting too much salt on my popcorn so if we go to the cinema, you'll have to sprinkle my popcorn for me before I shrivel up in front of the big screen.

4. Dream cover shoot?

• It would have to be the cover of WorldSwimsuit. It's always been a dream of mine to be featured in the magazine so to get the cover would be like winning the lottery.

5. If given a choice, full time model or full time executive, what would you choose?

• Full time model, because I get to travel the world, wear the most beautiful clothing and meet such interesting people. I never wake up bored because you never know what you're going to be doing on set the next day. It really is so much fun.

6. Growing up you must have had someone you aspired to be, so who is your role model?

• My role model has always been my dad. I've been lucky enough to grow up in a loving family where my parents are still very happily married. My dad has worked incredibly hard to give us the life we have today and I can only strive to be as good a person as he is and have the success the has. He has always done things the right way and been very successful. I hope to achieve my dreams by being a warm and caring person and helping others along the way so that at the end of the day I have a lot of good friends to celebrate my success with.

7. Anyone holding that hand yet? or is it available?

• I have the most amazing boyfriend. I am incredibly lucky to have the very talented singer/ song writer Michael Lowman as my partner in this life. And yes, he does sing to me from time to time, hehehe.

8. Obviously being a female you would love fashion. Favourite label/ designer?

• I am totally in love with Valentino's latest collection but my go-to-brand is the American label Free People, it's a bohemian gypsy style which is totally up my alley.

9. What type of music gets your booty shaking?

• I like all different types of music. It depends on my mood. I'm currently listening to Halsey which is amazing, you've got to give it a listen. Also my boyfriend is finishing up his latest album so there is a lot of that playing in our house. 

10. Which city is your dream party destination?

• I love cities so it would have to be New York or Tokyo, I'm hoping to go there again this year so who knows maybe I'll get in a sneaky party. 

Bucket Babe: Jeanne Kietzmann

It's the month of love, well the love part is finished and everyone is just thankful it's payday after spoiling their loved one...or ones with gifts for Valentines Day. Anyway on to much more important matters, this month's featured model. She's been on the scene for a while and featured on many of the local publications as well as dabbled in acting and on stage performances. She's a multi talented individual who's goals for the future include working with Arsenic Magazine and launching a podcast/  Radio station in which she would be the co-host. After frowing up in an arty background, she's been doing vocal training in the hopes of releasing an EP in the near future.

Bio

Born and raised in South Africa, Jeanné began her training at the

young age of six in dance, drama and singing at the Cape

Academy of Performing Arts. By the age of 13 she was a part of

many theatre productions held at the Artscape Theatre and had

already featured in numerous local and international

She began her acting career in 2001, with two minor television

role sand then went onto  playing a lead role on the Mnet drama

series League of Glory. In  2011, she starred along side Liam

Cunningham (Game of Thrones), Eric Mabius (Ugly Betty),

Hermione  Norris and Amy Manson (Once Upon a Time) as one

of the leads in worldwide BBC television series Outcasts, which

was co-produced by BBC America. She has appeared in

magazines such as FHM as well as being rated 59 in the FHM 100

Sexiest Women in the world in 2010.

1. Hot girls and hot cars go hand in hand, what ride would you like to  see yourself in?

• I am definitely an Audi girl, love the design, the way they drive so currently right now I'd love to see myself in a R8.

2. What sandwich are you most likely to make for me? and will it be toasted or plain?

• I love cooking and baking but strangely enough I never actually make sandwiches, so this one I would have to improvise but it would most likely be a toasted chicken mayo. If I'm  ever to order a sandwich when I'm out that is usually my go to. 

3. Everyone loves popcorn (well I think they do) what is your topping/ sprinkle of choice?

• This is my staple diet when I binge watch a TV series on Netflix and my toppings are always the classic...butter and salt. I occasionally sprinkle a little Aromat on top too.

4. Dream cover shoot?

• This is a tough one as there are so many great magazines out there. It would be a toss up between Vogue, Sports Illustrated or Maxim.

5. If given a choice, full time model or full time executive, what would you choose?

• I don't know if either haha, both jobs are very intimidating. I love the idea of being in a sexy suit conducting a board meeting, strategixing, etc. but being in a bikini travelling to different tropical islands, rolling around in the sand sounds just as great. If I had to choose, it would be an executive.

6. Growing up you must have had someone you aspired to be, so who is your role model?

• i had many role models growing up as a child, being the eldest sibling I use to always look for people in society to aspire towatds. The older I got, my role models changed too. But thinking back now, the one that sticks our was Angelina Jolie. I love what a strong empowered woman she is, always being able to hold her own and how creating awareness is really admirable and selfless. I also use to be inspired by the charactters  she would play an always hoped I'd be able to be cast in similar roles for example: Girl Interupted.Although it is a cliche, definitely my mother

7. Anyone holding that hand yet? or is it available?

• Haha, I hate dating questions but usually I'm holding my own hand.

8. Obviously being a female you would love fashion. Favourite label/ designer?

• Balmain, Alexander McQueen and Burberry are my top fashion houses which are completely out of my budget, lol but I am definitely a sweapants and sneakers kind of gal... I'm really into adidas at the moment, I love how they are making a comeback.

Bucket Babe: Candice Boucher

Greetings, and welcome to the first edition of the Bucket Babe for 2016! Now for us living in South Africa, 2016 hasn't been the greatest so far with the on going racial debacles plaguing the country, the ever weakening Rand and the political shambles we find our Parliament in. Fortunately we do have a lot of positives as well, our country is one of the most scenic in the world with breathtaking landscapes and it's home to some of the most beautiful woman in the world, like our featured model today. She's no stranger to magazine covers and has made a name for herself on the global stage, like many of South Africa's fine wines, she just gets better with age and it is an honor and a privilege to feature her today.

Candice Boucher

Born and raised in Durban, Candice shot to fame in local magazines such as SA Sports Illustrated and FHM. She was quite a regular in the swimsuit edition as well as making an annual appearance in the FHM Top 100 sexiest woman list with good reasoning too. She was a firm favourite in the swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated and I for one always used to look out for her in the TV segments on Supersport. 

 Her beauty holds no bounds, whether she's shooting lingerie, swimsuits, fashion or nothing at all. She still remains one of SA's sort out model and was also featured as a Guess model in many of their campaigns and one her biggest achievements has been being featured in Playboy Magazine, in a shoot done in Kenya along side animals in the wild.

Her talents don't lie only in her beauty as she also pursued roles in motion pictures, as she stared as the female lead in the Bollywood movie Azaan as well as featured in Bollywood superstar singer, Himesh Rashammiya's music video to Aap Kaa Surroor. She has a busy schedule, travelling the world and we wish her all the best and hope to see her featured more in the printed as well as on screen

Q&A

1. We know you used to own  a GTI, so we know you like fast cars (Durban influence showing) but if you could chose to have any car, what would it be?

• I still have my GTI, living on a smallholding makes it a little tricky though. I used to own an old 3 door Rav 4, I loved her, if I could have her back with a brand new engine I would be happy.

2. What sandwich are you most likely to make for me? and will it be toasted or plain?

• Aahh I used to make amazing sandwiches... it would be toasted with bacon, Camembert cheese, a little cranberry sauce and rocket. Toast that and then add some avo!

3. Everyone loves popcorn (well I think they do) what is your topping/ sprinkle of choice?

• Popcorn favourite...salt & vinegar

4. Being a Durban girk, what do you miss the most about your home town?

• I do miss the warm ocean and the incredible sunrises over the ocean.

5. You've graced the covers of many magazines, which one was the highlight for you?

• South African Sports Illustrated

6. Being an international model, you've shot in various scenic locations, which is your favourite?

• Kenya was my favourite! I had so many magical moments there.

7. One of your most popular features was with Playboy Magazine, what was it like shooting with Lions, baring in mind you were wearing little to nothing at all?

• That shoot contributed to my love of Kenya. There were wild lions, buffalo, giraffe, rhinos, elephants to name a few. At times I would be on the ground with just a car between myself and a lion (car pulled back for the shot) running up to a wild heard of buffalo. It was liberating and humbling to be amongst those incredible animals in the birthday suit. I had a wonderful team with me and amazing guide (John) who knew the animals very well. So I always felt safe. It was definitely the most insane, adrenaline fueled adventure of my life thus far.

8. Growing up, did you always dream of becoming a model or was it something that just happened?

• I didn't even know what modelling was growing up. It kind of happened by accident, I always wanted to work with animals or young kids... I have been fortunate enough thought to have worked with some amazing animals...thought not in the way I initially intended.

9. Anyone holding that hand yet? Or is it available?

• Nosy!! There is someone holding my heart...

10. What type of music gets your booty shaking?

• I am an 80's child s there is nothing that gets me in a good and festive mood quite like the oldies.. (I have to add that I am not really a refined booty shaker.. I have 2 left feet to say the least) Roxette, Talking Heads, White Snake, Dave Matthews Band, Alanis Morisette, Bruce Springsteen and good ol Bob Marley are some of my good time favourites.

11. Which city is your dream party destination?

• New York is quite a party city, but I have found that it doesn't really matter where you party, it's the people that are with you that make a party unforgettable or not. I have a small close group of friends and wherever we are or whatever we do, we have the best time together.
