Bucket Babe Catch Up: Yolandi Malherbe

Today we bring you a special feature for the Bucket Babe. We're doing a catch up with one of our previous girls to see what they've been up to since we last had them on the Bucket. It is none other than Yolandi Malherbe, the sultry vixen that hails from the land of the mountain...also known as Cape Town. I've known Yolandi for little over 3 years now and her sheer passion and determination is one aspect of her that strikes you instantly.

She's been featured five times before in PLAYBOY South Africa. First in July 2011 when she left most of SA breathless when she was first chosen as a playmate, then had our tongues wagging again when she posed for PLAYBOY's 'More than Just a Centerfold ad campaign' in February 2012, then in the December 2012 edition of PLAYBOY when she posed as a 1950's pin-up girl, then again last year August over a 6 page spread, posing as a sexy mechanic along with her Subaru XV. After making a name for herself in the social media stream, it was clear she was a favourite among many hence she was chosen as a cover girl for PLAYBOY's April 2013 issue, which is also their anniversary edition, I like to think it was an early birthday present for me but each to there own ;)

Shes also starred in many music videos, most recently being Jack Parrow ft PH Phat - Spring Moederfokker!

Q&A

Firstly congrats on the accomplishment of getting cover for Playboy SA, how did you feel when you first got the news?
  • Thank you so much! It's been a goal of mine ever since I was named a Playmate. I made it clear from from the start that 'one day I want to be on the cover' and I worked for it. Then, when I least expected it, I got a call from the editor with the fantastic news. The news made my year!!
What does getting cover for such a major magazine mean to you?
  • It confirms that I'm an established model and my name is big enough to translate to sales. So hopefully I'll land FHM soon. HUGE dream since I was 14! *call me* hahaha!

When we spoke to you last in the Bucket Babe, you said your dream cover shoot would be Playboy, now that you've achieved that what is your next cover shoot goal?
  • At the start of each new year, I make a list of things I'd like to achieve for that year and I try to tick all of them off. Getting a cover of PLAYBOY was on my list for 2013. I also said I want to be on the cover of FHM, film a movie, another music video and get a big sponsorship. We're only in April and I've ticked off everything but FHM. Production of another movie I'll be in has already started and filming commences in September. So I guess I'll focus on filming and earning the 'actress' title.

What have you been up to other than posing for Playboy?
  • I recently appeared in my 5th music video, but I can't give any details yet. This video was less sexy and more acting! I was named face of TOSCA (which is a salon chain). We recently did the ad campaign shoot, so look out for that in their Tygervalley & Tableview salons. Furthermore I'm busy with a few things and waiting to see what works out, doing loads of media interview/ PR for the April cover and also making time for some charity work.

I see you in the running for Swimsuit SA model search, is that your next goal?
  • YES! I entered the Sports Illustrated Search in 2011 and landed in the top 100, but that's as far as I got. I couldn't enter last year because of Playboy, but this year I'm giving it ago again. It's now run by SA Rugby Magazine. I have over half a million votes and I was named 'Girl of the Day' a day after entering the search, then I won 'Girl of the Week'. So it's been off to a good start but I can always do with more votes. Voting is free, unlimited and ends May 31st - http://www.saswimsuit.co.za/profile.asp?id=54

The competition was previously run by SA Sports Illustrated, are you a big sports fan?
  • I'm a proper Afrikaans chick who grew up in a home where there was always huge festivities built up around sport, especially rugby! So yeah, I love watching it and I love how you can enjoy a good braai and brandy with a game.

Which sports are your favourite to watch?

  • Rugby of course. I also love to watch Olympics. Swimming, gymnastics and track.

As a South African, I feel after 1995 we all love our rugby, so which Super Rugby franchise has your support?
  • I love the Bulls & Stormers, but when they're playing against each other, I gotta support the Stormers.

Guys find girls who play sports extremely sexy, especially when they wearing the tight shirts and short skirts! do you like to get active in the sports field or courts?
  • Gym, dance, outdoor activities or the occasional Badminton yeah, but I dress comfortably so that I can train dirty. No short pants or skirts creeping up my ass. It'll distract me (and you hahaha)

What can we expect from Yolandi in the near future?
  •  Look out for me on the big screen later this year! Also keep an eye on my website which goes live any day now! www.yolandimalherbe.co.za  and maybe on the covers of FHM. Let's hold thumbs!

We at the Bucket want to see her strutting herself in sexy bikini's along gorgeous beaches in the SA Swimsuit edition when its out in October, if you share the same feelings, you can vote for Yolandi in the SA Swimsuit model search by visiting her page and clicking vote, its that simple and its free!

Help Yolandi

One of the first bloggers I befriended with when I entered the online world was @JuicyJemma, mysterious at the time since she should go with her alter ego but friendly and cool none the less. Her blogs were great and interesting and so was following her escapades on twitter. We often teased each other for being "famous online" but now shes stepped up to a whole new level. Deciding to quit her day job and pursue a career in modeling wasn't easy but she showed great perseverance and was duly rewarded with many a shoot, none bigger than her Playmate feature in the 2011 July edition of Playboy Magazine SA. That escalated her fame to new heights as she became a regular in the paper, a pin up girl for the US marines and having one of the more popular Facebook pages.  Now she's got the opportunity to represent herself and SA on the world stage in the Playboy International Beauty Pageant to be held in the Philippines, and she needs your help to do so, I'll let her tell you more...

"SMS 4 to 40583 for me to represent SA (that's us!) at the PLAYBOY
International Beauty Pageant in the Philippines later this year. Its a massive
opportunity that can do so much for my career! I work hard, I give back to
my fans by doing competitions a LOT and I'm consistent in my marketing and
approach to my fans (not just when I need votes). It is R5 an sms (a little
expensive, but you can't add a price to a dream, right?) and only South
Africans can vote. Voting closes 31st August at midnight, so I need ALL the
help I can get. Don't send 1, send 100 please (or until you run out of
airtime) please. Thank you!!
xxx" - Yolandi Malherbe

You heard the lady and heres some motivation for your vote....not like you needed any ;-)

Bucket Babe: Yolandi Malherbe

Greetings readers of the bucket! Welcome to 2012, apparently some extinct race from South America say this is the earths final year. Well best we make the most of it then! What better way to kick off the first blog post for the year than with the Bucket Babe? Plus the format is slightly changed, not to worry, there is still pictures! We've included a question and answer section to make it a bit more interesting for the girls that are featured and of course, for you the reader! Today's featured model needs no introduction to the Bucket, as she has graced these pages before, not only is she famous online but famous throughout the country, by appearing in newspaper's, magazines and who knows what next!

Yolandi Malherbe

Bio
PLAYBOY Playmate July 2011, full time model in the making, brand ambassador, aspiring presenter, Good Hope FM regular, beach bum, petrol head and all round party girl! I'm very hard working, dedicated, ambitious, passionate about everything I do and I'm a force to be reckoned with. Though I collect bikinis and shoes, I'm not your typical girly girl. I always mean business.

Yolandi is in the running for Playboy SA playmate of the year, you can vote for her on the website here, or you can vote for her via sms by sms'ing 4 to 38570.

Q & A

1. Hot girls and hot cars go hand in hand, what ride would you like to see yourself in?
A: I'm currently in talks with Subaru Cape Town to be an ambassador for them and ever since I got behind the wheel of the 2.5 2011 WRX Subaru Wide Body, I fell in love. So for now, this is my car of choice. Just like me, it's curvy and built for speed, not comfort.

2. What sandwich are you most likely to make for me? and will it be toasted or plain?
A: I'd make you something way better, but I'd probably make you a roast chicken, cream cheese and basil pesto sandwich, toasted.

3. What type of music gets your booty shaking?
A: I love Hip Hop and all commercial music. Right now I've got David Guetta's latest CD, Nothing but the Beat, on repeat in my car!

4. Dream cover shoot?
A: PLAYBOY for sure! I've been working really hard to be a great Playmate and brand ambassador, and I've done everything to market myself and the brand really well. It's all up to the judges in the end, but I hope they see my hard work and dedication, and pick me as the Playmate of the Year. Should I win this, I'll get the cover of Playboy.

5. If not modeling wasn't an option, what career would you have most like to get in to?
A: Probably a Vet because I love animals! But I'm happy to be doing modeling, photo shoots, interviews for great websites, such as this one, radio interviews, appearances... The list goes on! This is already such a dream come true, that I can't ever imagine doing anything else. This is my passion.

6. Everyone loves popcorn (well I think they do) whats your topping/ sprinkle of choice?
A: I don't ever buy popcorn when I go to the cinemas because it's always old and cold. I love the microwave popcorn and I recently discovered a new flavour, basil and cheese. I could live off that! Otherwise, the usual butter flavoured popcorn is a must!

7. Anyone holding that hand yet? or is it available?
It's not about who's holding it. It's about who can hold on to it. I've got many wrapped around each finger, but as for my entire hand? Not yet.

8. Growing up you must have had someone you aspired to be, so who is your role model?
A: To this day I still look up to Lee-Ann Liebenberg and Tracy McGregor! I'm very fortunate to have met, and spent time with, Tracy. She's as beautiful inside as she is outside.

9. Obviously being a female you would love fashion, favourite label/ designer?
A: Two words: Forever New. I can be bribed with anything from that shop!!

10. Which city is your dream party destination?
A: Ibiza!

FHM Fridays - 6

The List

Favourite: Candice Boucher

I and probably many others first noticed Miss Boucher when she leapt onto the scene in SA Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, from then on we were blessed to see her in many other publications including GQ, FHM and in April 2010 we saw her shed everything and pose for Playboy International. The shoot received rave reviews worldwide and just goes to show how far along this local lass has come. If shes not giving it horns in Cape Town you’ll find her strutting her stuff in the Big Apple where she is based most of the time doing SA proud in the city that never sleeps.  Being the face of Guess jeans and mesmerising herself and others in the Sissyboy TV adverts is just some of the places she can be seen otherwise you can catch her on twitter from time to time working on her #bodyofsteel. A worthy contender for the title so lets hope we see her win it sometime soon.

Underdog: Yolandi Malherbe

Also known as Juicy Jemma and quite an apt name because she is one juicy girl of note! The famous online celeb has been rocking the interwebs for a while now with her blog being a weekly must read for many. Having appeared in 3 music videos and also done countless shoots, this sexy lady is no new comer to the world of modelling at all.  Recently just submitted an entry to Playboy SA, created a profile on FHM modelbook and also vying for the title of SA Sports Illustrated New Model search, she recently just won Rapport Newspapers (catch her on the back page this Sunday) model of the week, which the readers can vote for this Sunday! This beauty has one big bright future ahead of her. Ever the life of the party and loving to create a stir is just some of her attributes, its just a pity I didn’t get to meet her as yet since we’re were forever missing each other during my visit to the mother city.

Legend: Minki Van Der Westhuizen

The former winner surely needs no introduction, voted 23rd in Maxim’s hottest woman in the world and made the SA Sports illustrated swimsuit edition more than times! A poster of hers was also spotted on a US troopers room wall in Afghanistan during the war there! If shes getting exposure like this then you know shes hot property! Been in the public eye has been mixed with her relationship with Protea Captain falling out and of recent her divorce, but she is committed as always and proved it last year when she made the cover of Shape Magazine. She may not get number 1 back but we’d sure love to see our Minki stay on the list.
