FHM Fridays - 3

The List

Welcome to week 3 of FHM Fridays, todays beauty trinity consists of two winners and yet another bombshell Liverpool supporter, who with that is always a winner in my eyes.

Favourite: Charne Jade Slee

The air in Petermartizberg must be good to raise models, because that is where last year's number 3 hails from. The winner of the FHM Models 2010 competition also celebrates her birthday today, so hopefully she can consider this a cheap gift on my behalf. Recently engaged to former Idols SA contestant Jacques Terre'Blanche (damn!) this stunner seems to out do herself in every shoot she does, causing men around the country (mainly myself) to fall off their chairs. One of her most noticeable shoots of recent was her gracing the the FHM 2011 swimwear calender, if any of you are lucky to have a copy you will know why this one is only destined for greatness. In what has been a sensational year for her so far we can only wish her the best and hope she stuns us more often in the future.

Underdog: Myla Nanita Radicchia

This feisty 23 year old has a little bit of everything in her, beauty, sexyness, charm, wit heck even her heritage has a mixture! As she describes herself on her website as a fruit salad with Portuguese, Italian and Spanish genes, this local lass has had heads turning for many a year with shoots in many commercials and printed media. Nothing more sexier than a girl that likes sports, she holds interest in most of them with her favourite two footy teams being AC Milan and Liverpool FC... cant imagine what she went through on that night in May 2005.

Legend: Lyndall Jarvis

The 2009 winner needs no introduction as she graces our TV screens every week as a host on Top Billing, after meeting her at last years Festival of Beer in Cape Town, I can guarantee you she's worthy of making this list year in and year out. Aside from prancing around in seductive wear for FHM she also graced the pages of the SA Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. With natural hotness like hers, heres hoping to see her in many shoots with very little clothing on.

FHM Fridays - 2

The List

Week 2 of FHM Fridays brings you yet another hattrick of beauties to to help vote in the FHM 100 sexiest in the world competition.

Favourite: Basia Tyrkalska

The name might be a mouthful but her sexyness will have your jaw on the floor so you bound to get it all in. This Polish/ South African beauty and holder of a honor's degree in Economics came in at number 28 last year so shes looking at improving that position this year. Besides the fact she still owes me Woolworths black forest cup cakes, Basia is a lover of all animals, has great taste in music and as her twitter bio quotes a song from Tinie Tempah "written in the stars" lets hope for her sake this years stars have only good things written for her as she missed out on making the FHM Calender last year.

Underdog: Kirsty Bisset

Another one that doesnt just have a pretty face is junior business analyst Kirsty Bisset or as Sasha Martinengo likes to pronounce it "Bizzay". The P.E born lass better known to many as the "Patron Princess" is no new comer to the modeling scene either, with a number of shoots under her name, making the FHM Top 100 home grown honeys and already debuted in the 100 sexiest last year at number 79 she is a sure bet to make another appearance and with your help it could be much higher than last years achievement.  You can find the big Sharks and Liverpool supporter on twitter where you can let her entertain you all day with her jokes and escapades.

Legend: Lee-Ann Liebenberg

Does she even need an introduction? She practically took FHM to a whole new level with her twins. She also appeared in FHM's very first 3D shoot which many a guy is thankful for. Never short of controversy shes always causing a stir, the lastest for this new mother was the incident that occurred at Cape Towns hot celeb spot Caprice, to cut a long story short and R60 000 later she disappeared of twitter but clearly an addict like the rest of us shes back on! Being a former winner in 2005 she will never grace the top spot again but we'd still like to see her make the list.

That brings this weeks instalment to an end, remember that all important link: http://fhm.co.za/fhm-100-sexiest

FHM Fridays - 1

So here it go's, part 1 of 10 #FhmFridays, as explained in my previous blog post, these are my picks for the FHM 100 sexiest competition in no particular order. I'll start of by giving you the complete list of 10's for each category as I dont want any girl to have an unfair advantage of number of weeks been posted. Each week I will focus on 3, one from each category.

Favourite: Lee-Ann Roberts

A firm favourite of mine and hope she does make it into the top 20 is Lee Ann, hails from Durban (not being biased now) this lass has heads turning where ever she go's. Unfairly under rated is what I'll describe her as. Winning the face of Lee Jeans and coming in the top 10 of FHM home grown honeys is just some of the many accolades shes picked up over the years. Its like she does the camera a favour by letting it take a picture of her as I've yet to see a bad picture. She is a stunner of note and slowly becoming a hot topic on twitter with her party escapades. She has age on her side as well seeing she still is in her early 20's so we can only expect her to mesmerize us more in the future on her path to Super Modelism.

Underdog: Samantha Laura Kaye

Also likes to be known as "Lady Kaye" this british born beauty can be found frolicking in the Cape either powdering up models or baking cupcakes in the kitchen. Even though she likes to dabble in a little of everything, its in front of the camera is where I'd like to see her more often. She is a natural beauty and oozes sexyness, did I mention she bakes too? Theres so much to her that it boggles the mind, I sometimes sit and think what can she not do? She even makes a good car journalist with one of the best reviews of the new Mclaren MP4-12C I've read so far. Adventurious is another quality of hers I picked up since following her on twitter, so in essence shes every guys dream girl.

Legend: Kerry McGregor

The name says it all and its no secret that I am a MASSIVE fan of this great. The messiah of swimsuit models, the poster girl of every guy in South Africa,  let alone cricket players. The Wonder bra icon shot onto the scene in the 90's by appearing on the covers of SA Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition and from then on the rest as they say is history. She became a firm favourite by the guys in SA by appearing every year in the FHM 100 sexiest list and even after giving birth to 2 kids I cant see her disappearing off the list in the future. Now you can catch this blonde bombshell cheering on her husband, the great Neil McKenzie at any Lions game thought we wouldnt mind seeing her grace the covers of a magazine just one more time.

Mirror Mirror...

...on the wall, we dont need you right now, so you just hang there. Yup its that time of the year again, the time FHM South Africa asks you to cast your votes for who you think is the sexiest in the world. As per usual it is as simple as logging on to the website and entering the 10 names of the woman you feel most likely deserve the crown. You can enter as many times as you want and vote for who ever you want but if you like me, you tend to forget who it is you want to vote for so the guys are kind enough to add pictures of various girls at the bottom of the page and dont worry if you cant remember the spelling because the neat software they got on the website picks up the letters of the name and gives you suggestions for the auto complete. In addition for voting who wins, you get a chance to win a Sony PS3, now as an owner I can give my biased opinion that it is the best gaming consol out there at the moment, so that alone is a pretty rad prize but just like a TV infomercial "wait theres more!" you and a friend could stand a chance to win a trip to the photo shoot with the winner! How cool is that? If you do win just make sure to carry some sellotape with you, dont want your picture having any protrusions of any kind.

Back to the competition, Im a patriot of note, whether its supporting our national sporting teams or defending South Africa's honor as a whole, this country is great and its filled with belters that will leave your jaw on the floor, Im serious, South Africa has some of the most stunning woman you've ever seen so I ask, in a competition like this, why vote for any other? Its good to see that most of the previous winners in this competition have been local as it would have been a shame to see some foreigner grace the cover of our countries version of this male magazine. The woman we have here deserve the attention they get so thats why I try to keep my votes 100% local, its hard but I try.

So seeing that the choice is so great with our local bomb shells, over the next few weeks leading up to the end of the competition, every Friday will be #FhmFriday where I will post 3 of my picks. Each post will feature 3 girls from 3 categories which I will explain now.
  1. Favourite
  2. Underdog
  3. Legend
Favourite: will be the one I feel has the most likely chance of making the top 20, all professional and not new to the game so they are sort of the firm favourites, hence the name of the category.

Underdog: or dark horses if you like, relatively unknown but making their way up the modeling ladder and could have a lucky break in a competition like this.

Legend: Either previously won the competition before or came close to it or may be considered past their prime but either way they I still think they deserve a mention.

So again, each Friday I will pick 3 girls, to fit one of the categories above. The choice is mine so you can use it as a guide or just visit my the blog to perve at the pictures, either way make sure you get your votes in! Last thing you want is not to see your favourite on the list.

Happy Voting!

The fall of El Nino

The last weekend of the transfer window was a manic one of note. Monday itself needs new vocabulary to describe what happened. Fernando Torres, the golden boy of many and mooted as the best striker in the world when in form, hence he was loved by all and hated by the enemies because he was so good. He came from Madrid to Liverpool as the clubs most expensive signing and won our hearts before even kicking a ball by having the words "We'll Never Walk Alone" inscribed in his Atlethico Madrid captains armband. Whether or not its was a "come and get me" sign to Liverpool was irrelevant as he did make the move that summer. He quickly started breaking all sorts of records for the club and became one of the Premier Leagues more feared strikers. He had world class defenders such as Vidic quivering when they faced him so no doubt he was a prized asset to the club. Numerous transfer windows have come and gone with many clubs and Chelsea in particular making audacious bids for the striker but not only the club stating that the striker was not for sale, Fernando Torres himself stated that he wouldnt play for another English Club.

He said many a time in interviews of his love for Liverpool Football Club, the fans, the stadium and the history. Heck even at the world cup after Spains victory he was pictured with the World Cup and a Liverpool scarf so forgive us die hard supporters for feeling abit ill when he submitted a hand written transfer request after Chelsea's initial bid for him was rejected by the club. As the Club felt them and the player had a mutual understanding that neither of them were going to split. As heart sore as it is to hear your most loved player wanted out from your team, the club did the right thing to hold out for the £50 million.

Now many ask me why do I hate the player I once loved and sang songs about? Simple really. Firstly the lies, if you dont feel so passionately about the club, then why go on record to say a week prior to handing in a transfer request that you look forward to your future at the club? Then theres the timing that pissed everyone off. 3 days before the window closes. The reasons he stated in the request shown that he hasnt thought about this now and has been habouring these feelings for a while so why wait till the end? Fine he wants to win trophies but if he really did love the club he would have told them when the window opened, so it gave us a chance to find a suitable replacement and plan for the future, not give us 3 days of grief fighting for the right price from Chelsea then making hasty decisions in the market! As they say whats done is done, and one thing is for sure Fernando Torres is no longer Liverpool's number 9, he could have left the club in a dignified manner and still let us hold him in high self esteem but he tarnished his image with us and doubt he could ever redeem what he has done.

Liverpool with Kenny Dalglish were quick bring in replacements in the form of Luis Suarez and Newcastle's goal scoring giant Andy Carroll, both combined fetched a total off £58 million but in essence really good investments. People say Carroll was over priced but with the new rules as stated in a previous post, it makes perfect sense. Theres no denying the lad's qualities of goal scoring, holding the ball up and essentially a good target man, the thing that pushed his value up is the fact he is English, so despite him being injured it didnt affect the price. He can only go on to great things from here. Luis Suarez on the other hand, the most hated player from the World Cup but no doubt a deadly finisher, his goal average for Ajax is staggering let alone his assist percentage. With these two upfront we potentially could have the most lethal strike force in the EPL. Its just a matter of time since we see it in action. Then in a few months we could find ourselves saying "Torres Who?"

"Andy Carroll, Liverpools number 9"
