Monday Choon: Elysian - Light Years

‘Light Years’ has travelled 9.46 trillion kms to reach us - impressive given that Elysian (Emma Hewitt, Maor Levi & Ilan Bluestone) only started their collective in 2020. ‘Light Years’ aside, they’ve packed a considerable amount into that time and space, delivering Anjunabeats the galactically titled ‘Little Star’, ‘Moonchild’ and others.

‘Light Years’ however sees them jump to another universe, that of Black Hole Recordings, for a succession of outings throughout the year’s course.

While we say: “spectacular intro to 2024”, there are those who’ll already have made contact with ‘Light Years’. Ilan snuck it aboard his ‘In Search of Sunrise 19’ disc back in December … and to no small effect. That, along with Emma’s Black Hole-released ‘Ghost Of The Light’ album last year, has trailblazed a new Elysian singles run.

Through jacked beats and cyberish FX, at its outset, ‘Light Years’ rocks down some darker corridors. Emma’s song however quickly identifies beauty lying in its depths. As its synth rays rise, Ilan and Maor’s riff lifts the feel, as Emma ponders the eternal question … “is anybody out there?”

Monday Choon: Tiësto feat Nicola Hitchcock - In My Memory (Maor Levi Starlight Mix)

Tiesto released his track "In My Memory" which featured Nicola Hitchcock just over 12 years ago, the melodic trance track was one of his lesser played tracks but still hit all the right notes. Fast forward to 2023 and Isreali DJ and Producer Maor Levi has given it a fresh new lease of life with his Starlight Remix completely transforming it have an 80's disco groovy vibe to it. It's the perfect track to enjoy our Southern Hemisphere Sunday Sundowners too, with its chilled but vibey beat which has an uplifting note to it.

Monday Choon: Maor Levi, OTIOT & Taylr Renee - Open Road

Isreali producer Moar Levi, one of the more prominent DJ's on the Anjunabeats label has been busy with his recently released SHIFT EP, one of the tracks from this EP that caught my ear was "Open Road" which features OTIOT and Taylr Renee. The track itself shows Maor's strengths and versatility in trance music. His sounds and synths tie in well to the vocals which have a steady build up and the chorus fills well into the drop that gives the main basis for the song to kick off into the next part. It's a catchy track that has been doing well on the waves since the EP dropped in early April, and one that should do well over the European summer.

Monday Choon: Maor Levi & Yahel - Creator

Isreali DJ and producer Maor Levi has been a busy man of late, churning out some great tracks under the Anjunabeats label. Earlier this year saw Maor release his first solo Anjunabeats in two years with "Save the Last Trance" and "Constellations". Maor also teamed up with Armin van Buuren not so long ago for their track "Divino".  This time round he teams up with another Isreali DJ Yahel for their track "Creator". It's one of those high-tempo trance tracks that exudes high-energy and automatically gets you fist pumping without you even knowing. The best kinda tracks for those underground trance festival vibes and with festival season upon us for Europe, this track will no doubt be a firm favourite for many at them. The track really gets the blood flowing and hypes you up as the build up goes, its one of those tracks that needs to be played at high volume, so turn it up and enjoy!

Monday Choon: Maor Levi & BT feat. Nation Of One – Here

Israeli DJ and producer Moar Levi teams up with legend DJ BT on this weeks featured track "Here". Released on Armind Records, this track follows a few vocal tracks from the DJ, teaming up with BT and also Nation of One, this track is nothing short of sublime. The vocals are radiant, the sound is deep with a high first-pumping baseline that gives off the old club thumping feeling. The track will hit home to the old school ravers, with melodies that hard back to the best trance music of the past but also as a reminder to say that this time of music is still well and live in the industry. So turn up the volume and get ready for Here!

Monday Choon: Maor Levi - Arcadia

Isreali producer and DJ Maor Levi has been around for some time now, with music listed on both Anjunabeats and Armind labels, he has fast grown popularity around the globe in the Trance music fraternity. His latest release which dropped last week, Arcadia was first heard at ABGT350 when the British trio of Above & Beyond played it during their set. It was still in ID form then but gained major traction, I mean its quite the event to get your new work heard. Working hard on new productions, along with Ilan Bluestone, there's no doubt we're going to hear more great music from him in the near future as many will easily embrace him with music of this caliber, for now though, sit back and turn up the volume to Arcadia.

Monday Choon: ilan Bluestone & Maor Levi feat. EL Waves - Will We Remain?

Ilan Bluestone is no stranger to those who frequently listen to ABGT or fans of the Anjunabeats label. The British DJ has been igniting the dance scene across the world with his unique tracks consisting of that 'progressive' sound he builds on today. In April this year he dropped a number of new singles from his debut album Scars. Most of which have been featured in many an episode of ABGT and in various DJ sets including his own at ABGT300 in Hong Kong. Today on the blog, I have one track that I particularly enjoyed, probably because of the strong vocal presence but overall a great balanced track, this is Ilan Bluestone with Maor Levi featuring El Waves, Will We Remain?

Monday Choon: Coldplay – Midnight (Maor Levi, Norin & Rad & Kevin Wild Remix)

There's that famous quote "too many cooks spoil the broth" and more often than not it does prove to be true, now this isn't a broth but the DJ's were cooking when coming up with this remix. Coldplay themselves are a well established multi record, award winning band so remixes their stuff could land you in a lot of hatred from their fans but what Maor Levi, Norin & Rad along with Kevin Wild did here is something magical. No doubt it will be heard sometime during UMF 2014 which kicks off on Friday this week! If you're one of the lucky ones to get to Miami, get down and dirty for us! It's going to be beyond EPIC!
