Monday Choon: Ronsku Speed - Nuru Mpya

 

Today's featured track was debuted at Anjunabeats Volume 17 live set about a month ago and I've been itching for it to be released since! German DJ Ronski Speed who has been on the trance music seen since 1997 has knocked this one out the park, Nuru Mpya is probably for me, one of the best songs to be created in 2026. The levels, the beats, the build up and the drops and how they all sync with the vocals is just electrifying and made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up when I heard it for the first. He official released the track last week Wednesday and I've been listening to it nonstop since. 

Monday Choon: XIRA - Feel (J Ribbon Remix)

 

The unmistakable voice of XIRA encapsulated me when I first heard her on 3LAU's hit track "Tokyo", she returns to the blog with a track of her own titled "Feel" and its everything that you'd expect and more. The track has been remixed by J Ribbon and is featured on the Anjunabeats Volume 17. A song that hits your heart right away, a feel good track with a catchy beat and chorus and one that will have you press repeat over and over again. 

Monday Choon: Above & Beyond and Malou - Letting Go (Rinzen Remix)

Originally released in July, ‘Letting Go' was the first collaboration between Above & Beyond and German-Hawaiian singer-songwriter Malou, whose introspective, soulful vocals have helped define a new generation of emotive electronic music, having previously collaborated with Ben Böhmer and Nils Hoffmann on ‘Breathing. Rinzen, the cinematic techno innovator from Los Angeles, offers a moody, spacious remix that builds a slow-burning energy while preserving the track's emotional core. “It’s honestly a surreal feeling to remix Above & Beyond,” says Rinzen. “I’ve been listening to their music for 15 years. I absolutely love everything Malou does as well, so it’s a big honor to put my spin on ‘Letting Go.’

Monday Choon: Above & Beyond - React

 

Following their successful ABGT600 event in Mexico, the London based trio Above & Beyond have released the lead single from their forthcoming 'Tranquility Base Vol.2" EP titled React. The track which has been played for the better part of this year by the group and has delighted festival goers with its multiple tempo changes which pairs well with the heavy bassline. It's already becoming a club and festival hit which will be played throughout the festive season heading into the new year. From the success Vol.1 of the EP brought the group, Vol. 2 is set to do just the same with 5 high energy instrumental tracks, release date of the EP is scheduled for 6th December 2024. 

Monday Choon: Above & Beyond feat. Zoë Johnston - Crazy Love

 

Above & Beyond, the legendary trance trio from the UK have teamed up again with the vocal sultriest Zoe Johnston for their latest work "Crazy Love". This combination works so well as we've learned in the past, it almost becomes a norm that when Zoe does lend her voice to any Above & Beyond track its going to be a hit. Jono, Pavo and Tony make magic in the studio and with the aid of Zoe's voice, it just takes it to that next level. This track is no different from the others, with uplifting and ethereal trance record, first debuted to 20,000 fans at the trio’s Group Therapy 500 celebration in Los Angeles in 2022. Road tested at Above & Beyond shows such as Red Rocks in Colorado, EDC Las Vegas, and Printworks in London, the track soon became a mainstay in their sets and a highly-sought after ID. Well it's finally out and we get to enjoy it on repeat. 

Anjunadeep Open Air - South Africa

Anjunadeep, the renowned UK label is slated to make its South African debut with two incredible events scheduled for this coming March. The first, Ajunadeep Open Air Johannesburg will take place at The River Cabin in Cedar, Johannesburg, on Friday, March 29th, 2024. Followed by Ajunadeep Open Air Cape Town on Saturday, March 30th, 2024, kicking off at The Ostrich in Cape Town.

Ajunadeep

London based, independent record label Anjunadeep was set up in 2005 by Above & Beyond. In its early years the imprint existed as a sub-label to parent imprint, Ajunabeats. Initially releasing deep trance and progressive house, Ajunadeep has since evolved its output to offer only the very finest in deep house as well as progressive and melodic techno.

Monday Choon: OceanLab - Satellite (Above & Beyond's 2023 Progressive Mix)

 

Above and Beyond's OceanLab which included the trio and Justine Suissa was formed in the year 2000 and produced some of trances most timeless tracks that still spark emotion when played today. To celebrate the legacy of this, the trio have recently released "The Anothology" album which is available to purchase on vinyl from their website, it features all their tracks masterfully remixed by some of their closest friends in the industry. For me, personally a stand out favourite from OceanLab is Satellite and it would be a crime if I didn't feature this track, remixed by the trio of Jono, Pavo and Tony in a progressive style production that keep the tracks soul intact but elevating it to the modern era of trance. It still hits all the right notes and gives me butterflies when I hear it. The entire album is fantastic and if I had $185 dollars plus postage to purchase, it would be in the mail already but for now its added to my Christmas wish list. 

Monday Choon: 3LAU feat. XIRA - Easy

 

American DJ and electronic dance music producer, Justin David Blau, better known by his stage name 3LAU is no stranger if you're used to listening to the various streams from Anjunabeats. Justin's music career took off in 2011 after he went to Sweden for vacation where he first discovered electronic dance music and since then started experimenting with mashups and then progressed into making his own music. He released his debut album in 2018 titled Ultraviolet which saw him gain popularity in the EDM world, and helped his rapid growth in the industry. Today's featured track see's him teaming up with London based XIRA, which isn't the first time as his previous track with her "Tokyo" was also quite a hit. This one follows the same synergy between the too giving us quite a catchy song that has a steady build up with the vocals which then goes into a seemless flow which continues throughout the track. 

Monday Choon: Above & Beyond - Angry JP8

UK based trance trio Above & Beyond recently released their latest EP, "Tranquility Base Vol.1" which contains 5 heavy hitting dance floor anthems. It's a hark back to their roots which is heavy hitting electronic and instrument based trance tracks. We featured the first single from the EP on the blog today titled "Angry JP8", its an electro edged track that has a chorus type back ground vocal which catapults the songs intensity as it goes on. It's one for the original A&B listeners who enjoyed their club-centric trance music and as a fan of it, I cannot wait to see if there is more of these types of EP's planned for the future. 

Monday Choon: Genix & Dosem - Day City

 

Following the success of his Warehouse55 EP last year, Genix has just dropped volume 2 of it last week and one of the first tracks that has gotten lots of attention has been Day City in which he teams up with Spanish record producer, Martin Ramirez better known by his stage name Dosem. I first heard that track when Above & Beyond dropped it at their set in Printworks London the other week and its been stuck in my head since as its a proper banger. 

‘Warehouse55 (Volume 2)’ features two collaborative tracks with Dosem. A regular on Anjunadeep, Dosem’s penchant for pumping melodic and progressive house has seen him supported by the likes of Tale Of Us, Maceo Plex, Hot Since 82, Gorgon City, Vintage Culture, Yotto and more. The Spanish DJ and producer is well-accustomed to releasing tracks that ignite melodic house and techno charts worldwide, including a collaboration with Tinlicker, 'Hypnotised', the three-track 'Time After Time EP', and his club edit of William Orbit's 'Starbeam', all released on Anjunadeep.

Monday Choon: JODA - We Find Ourselves (Jono Grant’s Stadium Mix)

2022 was a big year for Jono Grant and Darren Tate, aka JODA. Grant is one-third of Above & Beyond who, throughout a two-decade career, have established themselves as one of the biggest electronic groups in the world. In 2019, Above & Beyond received an offer to score an environmental documentary, ‘The Last Glaciers’. He enlisted classically trained musician, songwriter, producer, hitmaker and close friend Darren Tate, and the duo got stuck into composing together. It became a dream project all around – not least because it sparked further ideas. JODA was born. Working in Tate’s studio in suburban north London, and A&B’s south London HQ, the pair were in a creative bubble during the early days of the pandemic. And the partnership proved fruitful. Their self-titled album ‘JODA’, celebrating the musical influences that Jono and Darren grew up with, was released on Anjunabeats in August 2022 – to a rapturous reception from the Anjunafamily and beyond. 

'We Find Ourselves' was released in April 2022 as the lead single from the JODA project, featuring Jono on vocals. His 'Stadium Mix' was premiered at Above & Beyond’s sold-out Group Therapy 500 celebrations in Los Angeles last October.

Monday Choon: Sunny Lax - By My Side

 

Hungarian trance music and progressive house producer come DJ Sunny Lax has been busy experimenting with his latest EP "Ruby". He says its a fusion of the old and new Sunny Lax, which is a showcase of the artistic freedom that he always wanted to reach, where he is able to explore new genres, unusual sounds, arrangements and sometimes darker vibes than usual. After hearing today's featured track, "By My Side", I can tell you with full confidence that the 36 year old is on the money with this one. He says its his way of being a story teller through his music and it encapsulates what he says about the EP in general brilliantly. The song featured is the extended mix but once the song starts you will immediately get gripped by its melodic symphony and the vocals. It's an amazing track and one that has received a good few plays by me in the car, so hope you enjoy it too! 

Monday Choon: Kyau & Albert - Are You Fine (John Grand & Kristina Sky Remix)

 

Celebrating 25 years of the Euphonic label, Kyau & Albert have released an album filled with reworked classics including todays track, Are You Fine in the John Grand and Kristina Sky Remix. It see's a great remix of their 2006 track which was quite a club pumper and revised to today's trance levels but still maintaining that iconic sound and feel. It's a great rework and pretty fitting to be on the album, its a song that has gotten great traction over the summer festivals in Europe and has been featured on many of the weekly podcasts from many artists, including Group Therapy from Above & Beyond. So if you are fine, turn up the volume and enjoy!

Monday Choon: JODA feat. Robyn Sherwell - Closer

If you are an avid listener of the Above & Beyond weekly podcast, Group Therapy like myself, then you will know all about todays featured artist JODA. The duo which is made up by Jono Grant from Above & Beyond and Darren Tate of DT8 Project have decided to started their own passion project under the name JODA, today's track Closer, is taken from their self-titled album 'JODA' and features the vocals of Robyn Sherwell. The full album will be released on August 26th and will be available for online streaming and vinyl purchases. It's a great new sound brought you by the dup and something which is mellow but has a great beat backline to get the BPM at that right level. 

Monday Choon: Fatum feat. Mars Atlas - Angels Cry

Grammy nominated American du Bruce Karlsson and Danie Davis, better known by their stage name Fatum have released another track from their Anjunabeats Worldwide 10 mix compilation which was released in May. "Angels Cry" features the vocals of Mars Atlas, someone who has worked before with the duo to produce "Deserve It", another sublime offering from the paring and "Angels Cry" is no different, offering a different sound altogether this time round. Much like the previous track, it all started with a vocal that was sent from Mars, and from there the trio began to work on producing this track of which they say is a "great representation of where we are at musically as Fatum and we couldn't be happier with the outcome". It's a brilliant song, which echoes the essence of trance music with a catchy bumping bassline, electro synths that tie in so beautifully with the vocals that you'll fall in love with it instantly. 

 

Monday Choon: Above & Beyond - Can’t Sleep [Ruben de Ronde & Elevven Remix]

 

Returning after a three year hiatus, Anjunabets World returns with the tenth edition of the fan-favourite mixed album series. Following in the footsteps of Anjuna superstars Mat Zo, ARTY, ilan Bluestone and Grum, the tenth instalment in the legendary Anjunabeats Worldwide compilation series leads you to the darkest of dance floors; an underground techno and trance trip courtesy of US-based duo Fatum. Today's chosen track from the album is the remix of a Above & Beyond's track "Can't Sleep" by Ruben de Ronde & Elevven. It takes an already great track and just elevates it with their trance notes and higher BPM. Just the kind of track you need to kick start the week. 

Monday Choon: Matt Fax - The Accord

 

French DJ and producer, David Ciekanski's latest track is our featured song of the week. Better known by his stage name Matt Fax, a name which has become quite popular in the Anjuna circles as much of his music has been featured in Above & Beyond sets, podcasts and live events. Having started his career in 2009, Fax encountered early success with support from many big name artists and has since grown in strength and developed his own unique style and forged his name on the circuit has one of the big name DJ's. His track Accord which was released 3 weeks ago has received rave reviews and much success on airplays with it being featured on many podcasts since. We hope you like as much as we did, so turn up your volume for this. 

Monday Choon: Genix & Zashanell - All I Want (Chill Out Mix)

 

Genix, the UK based DJ and producer recently released his 199X Chill Edition album, today's featured track was one of the first which he released last year October with the rest last week. I'm a massive fan of trance and electronic music, the energy and feel gives life to whomever listens to it, re-energizes them and gives them a stimulating experience but when the DJ takes the same high energy tracks and produce something like this, really has me in standing and applauding their talents. It's not the first time a DJ has taken trance/ electronic tracks and toned down the BPM to create slow sessions type of music, I'm a big fan of the Above & Beyond acoustic sessions. While making specific chill out music is an art in itself, taking an original track which was intended to create hype and slow it down to perfection is a skill that not many posses. Today's track "All I Want" is one of those and it was featured on last weeks ABGT 479, which is when I heard it for the first time and fell in love with it. 

Monday Choon: Fatum - Backdraft

 

Grammy nominated Fatum  are back and kicking off where they left off with high energy electronic sounds. Their latest release, Backdraft was released just over a week ago and has already got a lot of airplay, both on podcasts and live events. They also recently dropped their "The Story So Far" Album which features 40 tracks of releases and remixes from them spanning the past seven years. This too has received great streams since its release. I know most DJ's are over the moon now that festivals are back in action with the two major ones of recent being UMF Miami and Tomorrowland Winter, Fatum are confirmed to play at the Above & Beyond Weekender in London this September, it will be their first time playing in the UK so hopefully we can expect more banging tracks to be released by them in lead up for this event. 

Monday Choon: Above & Beyond - Prelude [Above & Beyond Future Summer Mix]

 

Above and Beyond have just celebrated 10 years of Group Therapy and in celebration of this, launched an album with the same title. Today's featured track comes from this album and is a remix of the track launched last year, Prelude. With the trio getting back into the groove of touring again, this track has come at the most perfect time as it is the type of track that gets the crowd going. It starts off with a great intro and a catch bassline which extends with some tribal vocals and piano, the drop when the two mix together, its just pure euphoria. Its nothing less than what we expect from Above & Beyond, a brilliant track from a brilliant band, enjoy!
