Monday Choon: Genix &. Sandy Chambers - Baby Baby

This one is for the 90's ravers, Genix who has fast become one of my favourite artists of late just dropped this remake of a major throwback from the group Corona! "Baby Baby" was released in the mid 90's at the time where electronic music was just making its surge into the music industry. With the iconic voice of the original artist in Sandy Chambers, Genix was able to remake this track, bringing it to the modern sounds that we're used to today but still keeping that uplifting funk that this song was known for. The new single arrives hot on the heels of ‘Dance Like Nobody’s Watching’, which earned support from Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1 and Ben Malone on Kiss FM, as well as ‘Lights, Sound, Camera, Action’, a collaborative single with flowanastasia that featured on BBC Match of the Day and saw multiple spins on Sirius XM BPM and Diplo’s Revolution.

Monday Choon: Genix - On & On

UK DJ and producer Genix was last featured on the blog when he released his epic Warehouse55 EP, this time round Damion 'Damo' Houchen which is his real name has announced his new album and tour 'YOU.ME.NOW' with today's featured track "On & On" which can only be described as a rave-centric song. Since his debut album 199X in 2021, Genix has been delivering some bangers on the Anjunabeats label, and this latest single is no different, building on years of innovation and versatility across the spectrum of electronic music, Genix comes full circle with this one and we can't wait to hear the rest of the album which drops on the 14th of June this year.

Monday Choon: Genix & flowanastasia - Lights, Sound, Camera, Action

Genix finds himself featured again on the blog, the last time we featured him was after the release of his EP Warehouse55. The UK DJ and producer teams up with Ukraine born vocalist flowanastasia for his latest track "Lights, Sound, Camera, Action". The track is Genux through and through with that deep bassline with techno synths coming throughout the track. It has a 90's groove undertone that gives the track that catchy feel and add on the vocals, it's another banger from his bag of tricks. I'm sure we will be hearing more from Damion following this so keep an eye and ear out for him.

Monday Choon: Genix & Dosem - Day City

Following the success of his Warehouse55 EP last year, Genix has just dropped volume 2 of it last week and one of the first tracks that has gotten lots of attention has been Day City in which he teams up with Spanish record producer, Martin Ramirez better known by his stage name Dosem. I first heard that track when Above & Beyond dropped it at their set in Printworks London the other week and its been stuck in my head since as its a proper banger.

‘Warehouse55 (Volume 2)’ features two collaborative tracks with Dosem. A regular on Anjunadeep, Dosem’s penchant for pumping melodic and progressive house has seen him supported by the likes of Tale Of Us, Maceo Plex, Hot Since 82, Gorgon City, Vintage Culture, Yotto and more. The Spanish DJ and producer is well-accustomed to releasing tracks that ignite melodic house and techno charts worldwide, including a collaboration with Tinlicker, 'Hypnotised', the three-track 'Time After Time EP', and his club edit of William Orbit's 'Starbeam', all released on Anjunadeep.

I’m so happy to have teamed up with Dosem, I’ve been a huge fan of his music for years. I think our styles worked together perfectly on the collabs. We both love those 90’s rave vibes and we wanted to add that to these productions.” - Genix

Monday Choon: Genix - Ba55 I5land

There's just some songs that hit you from the second you start listening to it, hard hitting, in your face kind of music and that is exactly what today's featured track is. Genix has been evolving his sound over the years, mixing and matching, perfecting a sound that is unique to him and the track Ba55 I5land is the perfect example of his work . The track encompasses his love for rave and techno, the sounds explores this dark side of his work and is a brilliant example of modern and blast from the past stuff. This track forms part of his new EP and live band, Warehouse55 which promises more tracks of the like and personally, I cannot wait to hear more.

Monday Choon: Genix & Zashanell - All I Want (Chill Out Mix)

Genix, the UK based DJ and producer recently released his 199X Chill Edition album, today's featured track was one of the first which he released last year October with the rest last week. I'm a massive fan of trance and electronic music, the energy and feel gives life to whomever listens to it, re-energizes them and gives them a stimulating experience but when the DJ takes the same high energy tracks and produce something like this, really has me in standing and applauding their talents. It's not the first time a DJ has taken trance/ electronic tracks and toned down the BPM to create slow sessions type of music, I'm a big fan of the Above & Beyond acoustic sessions. While making specific chill out music is an art in itself, taking an original track which was intended to create hype and slow it down to perfection is a skill that not many posses. Today's track "All I Want" is one of those and it was featured on last weeks ABGT 479, which is when I heard it for the first time and fell in love with it.

Monday Choon: Fatum, Jaytech , Genix & Juddah - We're All In This Together (Above & Beyond Respray)

Sticking with the theme at the moment, which is COVID19, I don't think we can escape it actually but the guys at Above & Beyond have taken probably my favorite song of 2019 and given it a "Respray" as they put it to commemorate all the Essential working staff during this pandemic, mainly the medical sector who have it the worst at the moment, to let them know we're all thinking of them. The song is quite appropriate seeing that everyone has their part to play in fighting this pandemic, whether you're on the frontline or just sitting at home. The British trio of Jono, Pavo and Tony have tweaked the song to give is a more uplifting and somber sound but still hits that message home quite powerfully. The music video features fans, mainly the essential medical staff sending supportive messages and from the general fans giving there's as well. It's quite beautiful and moving, so turn up the volume sit back and enjoy.

Monday Choon: Armin van Buuren vs Inner City - It Could Be (Genix Remix)

Genix is probably one of my favourite DJ's at the moment, the UK Dance DJ and producer has been putting out some stellar music of recent and he is still killing it with some sick remixes. Today's featured track is one of those remixes, the original track by Armin van Buuren featuring Inner City on Armin's latest album Balance, the track titled "It Could Be" got the Genix techno tuning and my word it is epic. It has an awesome bass line which is seeming to being one of the trends in EDM lately, lots of hard bass in the tracks coming out of late, not that I'm complaining. Anyway, enjoy today's tune!

Monday Choon: Genix - Open Your Eyes

UK Dance DJ and produce Genix considers himself as one of the longest-serving linchpins of the trance scene and we got to agree with him, he's been integral over the past decade in the industry, whether it being in production or spinning the decks. His production game has grown in leaps and bounds over the years and the fruits were in his music, his had many great remixes of popular tracks, like Cosmic Gate Consciousness which is now on their 20 years album and Above and Beyond's Home which is another cracker. Today's track I had first on ABGT and has great hard style bass intro, which is indicative of the club nature of the track, has elements of his remix of Panic by No Mana but has it's own unique build ups and drops. Open your eyes is an epic trance track that is sure to get the emotions going, perfect way to start the week.

Monday Choon: No Mana feat. Jessica Ess - Panic (Genix Remix)

Relatively unheard DJ and producer No Mana who is signed under the Mau5trap label popped up on the scene recently with his track 'Panic' on the Anjunabeats label. It was a track that got my attention immediately as it was fresh, something new with a great style and melody. Obviously I wasn't the only one that liked it as it gained popularity very quickly and UK based DJ Genix decided to give it his own unique remix treatment and the result is something quite literally mind blowing. There;'s not enough I can say about this track apart from you might be hearing it quite often if you're a big trance junkie like myself.

Fatum, Genix, Jaytech & Judah - All In

There's a saying that "too many cooks, spoil the broth" well I suppose that its a good thing they don't make any broth in the Anjunabeats kitchen, they just cook up damn good music because today's featured track as a host of artist that produced this beaut. Fatum, Genix, Jaytech and Judah collaborated to bring us this celebration of trance music which brings happiness to my ears from the first time I heard it at ASOT 900. Since then it's featured on the ASOT podcasts as well as ABGT but the track dropped officially last week Friday and boy are we glad because it is absolute fire! My only gripe? It's too short but other than that, stella job by these guys and here's to more great music from this impressive colab.
