Monday Choon: Cosmic Gate, RYVM & Marlene - Heaven Knows

 

Cosmic Gate needs no introduction to old school trance and EDM fans, their track Exploration of Space to this day remains one of the most iconic tracks of the electronic dance music industry and continues to get played all over the world in various remixes and styles. The German duo consisting of Claus Terhoeven and Stefan Bossems are still ripping up the decks world over and producing some great new music, one of which is our featured track of the week, "Heaven Knows". They team up with UK based RYVM and Marlene for this track and it certainly has a summery afro-house feel to it. It's a great track and sure to be one for the Southern Hemisphere summer. 

Monday Choon: Kyau & Albert - Cascading Waterfalls

 

German DJ and Producer duo Kyau & Albert have been a long time favourite of ours on the blog, and their record label Euphonic has produced some major hits in the trance and dance genre over the last 27 years. Today's track is from the duo themselves, titled "Cascading Waterfalls", just like the name this song has a multitude of layers and build ups that lead into the main flow of the track that is just electric. It has every major ingredient that a Euro trance track should have, perfect synths, lovely layered bassline, catchy rhythm, and the build up to the drop is effortless. It's a brilliant track from the duo and it just cements why they are legends of the industry and have been featured on a number of the leading labels and festivals globally. 

Monday Choon: Cosmic Gate & Olivia Sebastianelli - We Got The Fire

 

Coming from the early era of trance music, there's not doubt that one of the standard tracks from my generation was Cosmic Gate's Exploration of Space. To this day hearing it gives me goosebumps. The German DJ duo have been mesmerizing crowds since the late 90's with their music and are still at it today, giving us fresh music that is enjoyed by young and old. Last week saw them release their latest offering featuring English songstress Olivia Sibastianelli titled "We Got The Fire". The track which has already been gathering quite a lot of interest having been played on many of the weekly podcasts and shows. It's a banger of note and nothing less than what we expect form Stefan and Claus, so turn up the volume and enjoy!

Monday Choon: Deniz Kuyo - Next To You

Progressive and electro house producer and DJ Deniz Kuyo is back with that familiar catchy sounds with yet another foot tapping masterpiece. The Turkish/ German producer has a knack of creating these feel good tracks, signed on to Protocol Records and with the guidance of Dutch legend Nicky Romera, Deniz has been created some great music over the years, his track "The Way Out" featuring Amba Shepard is still one of my favourite tracks to date. It's a great track which has a chilled mellowed vibe with a great bass line line and chorus, much different to what we're used to from Deniz but not something that is frowned. It is the perfect sort of track to put you into a good mood on a Monday. 

Monday Choon: Cosmic Gate - Universal Love

The OG's of Trance that are Cosmic Gate are back with another banger, not that they went anywhere as they've still be giving as some cracker tunes for the better part of 20 years. German DJ duo, but now living across the globe, Claus and Stefan's latest work is caused Universal Love and what better title at the moment as we see the universal love spread around the globe currently. This virus has brought economies to its knees and with that many are forced to sit at home, the one thing that helps  lot of us bide the time is music and its great to see so many DJ's contributing to the cause, music is the universal love.

Monday Choon: Frey, Sway Gray - Wir Sind Nicht Allein (Allein Allein)

While tensions have started to grow locally after our President announced an extension to the lockdown, a reminder has come in from across the pond in Germany by DJ's Frey and Sway Grey to say that We Are Not Alone in this fight as the Coronavirus Pademic is affecting everyone globally and we have to all do our part to combat it. The track, Wir Sin Nicht, originally done by German pop group Polarkreis 18 has been given a new lease a decade later with the meaning even more significant now more than ever. The chorus which translates "We Are Not Alone"  resonates with every one at this current moment in time, no matter what this lockdown is doing or affecting everyone, just know that you are not alone. Frey and Sway Gray approached Polarkreis 18 lead vocalist Felix Rauber to add his vocals to the track and he obliged. The official music video also shows the transition between the lockdown all over the world to what we're hoping will be the not so distant future where we can go back to normality. 

Monday Choon: Paul van Dyk - Duality

Paul van Dyk, there's a name we didn't hear of in a while on the blog, Paul ranks as one of the all time greats of trance music and we are privileged to not only have him producing music even after his mishap a few years ago but also to sticking to the same type of stuff he's been known for making. Today's featured track "Duality" has been inspired form the recovery of his famous accident he suffered at ASOT750, during his recovery period Paul did a lot of reading and as a result his music has taken a new meaning and interpretations from his accident, to his awakening from unconsciousness as well as the healing process.  Inspirational stuff from the trance DJ legend. It really is an emotional one for those who know his music and we're just glad he is still  able to do what he loves and keeping us, the fans happy with great music. 

Monday: Eddie Thoneick - Everyday

German veteran DJ Eddie Thoneick is still rocking the decks and still delivery sick tracks like today's featured one, Everyday. The man from Muilheim, Germany has been on the scene for some time now, two decades to be precise and has been synonymous with quality house music. After spending almost a yer locked in his studio, his latest music has progressed as he was cooking up his new batch of records. He has mastered the local circuit in his native Germany, which reached global acclaim, he has also provided remixes for the likes of Armand van Helden, Steve Angello, Bob Sinclar and David Guetta to name a few. Everyday is a classic House Music track, with an addictive beat and great bass line. Definitely one to get the party going. 

Monday Choon: Ferreck Dawn, Robosonic & Nikki Ambers - In My Arms

There's no denying the switch in trend to deep house these days with more and more people taking interest in the genre. From music festivals, to parties to live podcasts, the deep house scene is an ever growing one and it's popularity is only going to get bigger. With this in mind, today's featured track is one that has been played at most deep house sessions around the world and is a collaboration between Dutch producer Ferreck Dawn and German mainstay Robosonic featuring the vocals of Nikki Ambers. The song itself was road-tested by many in the Defected camp in early 2018 and became an earworm for most people. Well now it's finally been released and we have the official music video for you. 

Monday Choon: Markus Schulz feat. Nikki Flores - We Are The Light

German DJ Markus Schulz is no stranger to our segment, while his hard style trance music is not everyone's cup of tea he has certainly earned himself legendary status in the EDM world and credit to him, most of his recent work involves collaborations that make his music a more general appeal but while still sticking to his roots. I first watched Markus at the Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange project in Cape Town almost a decade ago and fell in love with is work, his weekly show, Global DJ Broadcast has an ever growing fan base worldwide. He's one of the DJ's I'd like to see tour SA again soon maybe with Ultra Music Festival, so lets hold thumbs something can happen. Today we feature his latest work with Nikki Flores, titled We Are The Light. Another example of his colabs which he's been doing and hopefully attracts more to his work.
