Monday Choon: Cosmic Gate, RYVM & Marlene - Heaven Knows

 

Cosmic Gate needs no introduction to old school trance and EDM fans, their track Exploration of Space to this day remains one of the most iconic tracks of the electronic dance music industry and continues to get played all over the world in various remixes and styles. The German duo consisting of Claus Terhoeven and Stefan Bossems are still ripping up the decks world over and producing some great new music, one of which is our featured track of the week, "Heaven Knows". They team up with UK based RYVM and Marlene for this track and it certainly has a summery afro-house feel to it. It's a great track and sure to be one for the Southern Hemisphere summer. 

Monday Choon: Cosmic Gate & Diana Miro - Hear Me Out

 

It's a track that many of us have been waiting for quite some time, "Hear Me Out" by Cosmic Gate, featuring the vocals of Dianna Miro. The duo have been working with Diana for over two years now and this is their 3rd production with her, just like the others, the track is a great electronic back track to her amazing vocals. With a similar sound to their recent album MOSAIK, this follows those lines with a more chilled trance sound with added vocals, it could also form part of MOSAIK Chapter 2.

Monday Choon: Cosmic Gate & Olivia Sebastianelli - We Got The Fire

 

Coming from the early era of trance music, there's not doubt that one of the standard tracks from my generation was Cosmic Gate's Exploration of Space. To this day hearing it gives me goosebumps. The German DJ duo have been mesmerizing crowds since the late 90's with their music and are still at it today, giving us fresh music that is enjoyed by young and old. Last week saw them release their latest offering featuring English songstress Olivia Sibastianelli titled "We Got The Fire". The track which has already been gathering quite a lot of interest having been played on many of the weekly podcasts and shows. It's a banger of note and nothing less than what we expect form Stefan and Claus, so turn up the volume and enjoy!

Monday Choon: Cosmic Gate - Universal Love

The OG's of Trance that are Cosmic Gate are back with another banger, not that they went anywhere as they've still be giving as some cracker tunes for the better part of 20 years. German DJ duo, but now living across the globe, Claus and Stefan's latest work is caused Universal Love and what better title at the moment as we see the universal love spread around the globe currently. This virus has brought economies to its knees and with that many are forced to sit at home, the one thing that helps  lot of us bide the time is music and its great to see so many DJ's contributing to the cause, music is the universal love.

Monday Choon: Cosmic Gate - Exploration of Space (Grum Remix)

Cosmic Gate have launched their 20 years album special and includes reworked or remixed tracks of most of their classics. It's hard to believe the German DJ duo of Claus Terhoeven and Stefan Bossems have been around for two decades, lighting up dances floors, clubs and arena's with their techo sounds. Today's featured track is a cult classic from them, one I remember from high school and even till this day the original sounds just as epic as it did back then. Exploration of Space was the track that got me into electronic music and I'm sure I'm not the only one, Grum was tasked with the remix for this track and boy has he done it justice. Keeping core elements that made the track great but adding his own little twist to give it that modern sound. 

Monday Choon: Gabriel & Dresden feat. Sub Teal - Only Road (Cosmic Gate Remix)

As party season starts to heat up in Ibiza, we thought we'd bring you some of the heat from there to warm us up here in South Africa. This week's featured track is one that has been getting a lot of traction of recent, it's the Cosmic Gate Remix of Grabriel & Dresden's song, featuring Sub Teal titled "Only Road".  It's been getting massive play not only in the clubs but by also various artists in the festivals such as Tomorrowland and this past weekend at Untold in Romania. Above & Beyond are massive fans of this track, well it might also be because it is produced by their Anjuna Beats label so it is expected. Either way, it's a great track and a perfect way to get the week off to an uplifting way.

Monday Choon: Cosmic Gate & Emma Hewitt - Tonight

One of the few legends of trance and iconic duo for decades, Cosmic Gate have been thrilling crowds over the years with their uplifting beats and great electro sounds. Over the years they seemed to have taken a liking to Australian songstress Emma Hewitt and have featured her a lot on their tracks, she's back once again to join them in one of their latest releases, "Tonight" the track was released earlier this year and has been doing pretty well on the club charts. It's a song that's very similar to their previous work with her, a bit more up tempo and trance like. 

Monday Choon: Cosmic Gate & Markus Schulz - AR

Nothing like some Trance to get the week going and today we have got some of the legends in the genre featured on the blog. It's quite surprising that it took them so long to collaborate on a song as both German duo Cosmic Gate and Dutch DJ Markus Schulz have been around for as long as I can remember trance music but anyway, it happened, they made a song and now it's done! If anyone caught the live streams from Tomorrowland you would have already heard of this song by now as Markus played it during his set in the Trance Energy Arena, which I must add was one of the best stages/ arena's I've seen in a long time at a major festival! AR is the name of the collaboration and it debuted at Tomorrowland, not entirely sure on the release date yet but I do have the insert from Markus's set. Enjoy!

Monday Choon: Steve Brian & Tabasco Bob - Time & Time

First things first, I've never heard of these guys before I'm my life but with a name like Tabasco he's sure to be hot right? Anyway these two are from Germany and true to German trance they find the selves under German legend duo Cosmic Gates, Wake You Mind records. The somg Time and Time was festured I'm all of Cosmic Gates sets during ASOT700 and they played a different mix to the original, which I have featured today. It's quite catchy and gets the heart beat rising. 

Monday Choon: Cosmic Gate & Orjan Nilsen - Fair Game

The last time I saw the duo of Cosmic Gate perform live was on my birthday, just over 2 years ago in the engine room of Origin night club in Durban. There is something special about their sets and the music they make. Besides being one of my favourite artists from a very young age, they continue to make music that is appealing to their fans but still true their style. This time round they teamed up with baby face Norwegian DJ Orjan Nilsen to bring us this banging tune, it's already racking up the views on youtube with it being released in just over a week. It's the perfect way to get a start of your week. 

Monday Choon: Cosmic Gate ft J'Something - Over the rainbow

Its been a good weekend to be South African, so why not carry the trend into the new week? J'Something most popular known for his vocals on the multi SAMA winning band MiCasa has colaborated with German trance lengends Cosmic Gate on their latest hit single "Over the rainbow". DJ Bossi and Nic Chagall (Cosmic Gate) toured SA this year in April so it provided them a perfect opportunity to team up with J and film the music video in Joburg. The song is already set to be a hit on the local charts as its already a popular song on the 5fm playlists.
