Dutch Electronic group Dash Berlin are back! There's been a lot which has went down over the past two years for the group with lots of infighting and legal matters being sorted out behind closed doors but former front man, Jeffery Sutorius has lost his appeal over the trademark of the name, so the original members and founders Eelke Kalberg and Sebastiaan Molijn are back having left in 2019. While there is a new Album in the pipeline that is due to be released in 2022, of which the first track "Oceans" has been released, today I'm featuring a remix/ rework of their version of Tate McRae's "You Broke Me First". It's actually done by Seb but has that iconic Dash Berlin sound and feel to it, with the high energy and enthusiastic baseline that we've loved from the group in the previous years. It's an exciting time for the duo as they get to relaunch their brand and probably having to start showing their faces since they would need to represent themselves at festivals and parties going forward.
The mind is like a bucket, filling up with thoughts, idea's all the time. So this will be an insight into my bucket.

Monday Choon: Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike x Armin van Buuren x W&W - Repeat After Me
It's the first Monday Choon post of 2019 and we're pulling out the big guns for this one to get the year off on the right note. With the music video just dropping last night it was a no brainer from our side as this tune is hot as it is and features three big name hitters in the industry, starting off with the duo who run the show at Tomorrowland, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, along with the Dutch duo W&W, who are joined by the legendary Armin van Buuren to bring us this epic track "Repeat After Me". Armin says its "easily one of the most epic collaborations of the year". The track is a full-throttle mainstage anthem which is able to cause some serious damage on the festival grounds. It features many fan favourites and has an awesome build up and drop, you're definitely going to hear this one throughout the year.

Monday Choon: Armin van Buuren vs Shapov - The Last Dancer
Following the trend of featuring new hits from Ultra Miami, here is another one that just came off the production line. It's the new one by legendary DJ Armin van Buuren which he worked with Russian producer Shapov to make this track. The track it self is great and you can identify the high energy style from Shapov with the uplifting trance from Armin's side. The multiple drops are the kicker to me, added to that the violins plus the bass just ties the entire song up so well. Armin dropped the track at the main-stage at Ultra where her invited Shapov onto stage to share the moment with him. We have that moment for you today, enjoy!

Monday Choon: NWYR - Dragon
After featuring their debut single Voltage not so long ago, the talented duo NWYR have dropped their second single, Dragon. It's been played both at Ultra Miami and at Tomorrowland during their ASOT set. It's one of the many tracks we've been waiting for them to release and now that's its out, we can enjoy it. While W&W have been quiet on their hardstyle music, we're definitely loving whats coming out of the studio's under this alias. Keep it up guys!

Monday Choon: Cosmic Gate & Emma Hewitt - Tonight
One of the few legends of trance and iconic duo for decades, Cosmic Gate have been thrilling crowds over the years with their uplifting beats and great electro sounds. Over the years they seemed to have taken a liking to Australian songstress Emma Hewitt and have featured her a lot on their tracks, she's back once again to join them in one of their latest releases, "Tonight" the track was released earlier this year and has been doing pretty well on the club charts. It's a song that's very similar to their previous work with her, a bit more up tempo and trance like.

Monday Choon: NWYR - Voltage
If you follow me on Twitter you might have seen me tweet last week that NWYR are probably the best break through artist of the year. Many won't know who they are but are actually no strangers to the EDM game. Earlier this year when the Ultra Miami line-ups were announced, many were surprised to see the exclusion of W&W. The big room specialist who normally are a crowd favourite were not going to perform at the mega festival but later many discovered that they were but under a new alias, NWYR. The Dutch duo created NWYR to be more trance focused and have a heck load of music to share to the world. This has blown open their fan base now, with many trance goers attending their set at Ultra. Their set at the ASOT stage at Tomorrowland was mind blowing, it's so refreshing to see their take on trance, it has so much energy and great tempo, I honestly cannot wait for more new releases from them. Today we have featured their debut single, Voltage which just personifies how electric their music is, do enjoy.

Monday Choon: Cosmic Gate & Markus Schulz - AR
Nothing like some Trance to get the week going and today we have got some of the legends in the genre featured on the blog. It's quite surprising that it took them so long to collaborate on a song as both German duo Cosmic Gate and Dutch DJ Markus Schulz have been around for as long as I can remember trance music but anyway, it happened, they made a song and now it's done! If anyone caught the live streams from Tomorrowland you would have already heard of this song by now as Markus played it during his set in the Trance Energy Arena, which I must add was one of the best stages/ arena's I've seen in a long time at a major festival! AR is the name of the collaboration and it debuted at Tomorrowland, not entirely sure on the release date yet but I do have the insert from Markus's set. Enjoy!

Monday Choon: Kygo & Selena Gomez - It Ain't Me (Tiesto AFTR:HRS Remix)
It's been about a year since Norwegian DJ Kygo first made his name on the EDM scene with his fresh new sound that was dubbed "tropical house" which was a fusion of electronic, house and the sounds of the Caribbean. He killed it on the Ultra Main stage and soon thereafter had much success world over. Fast forward a year later and he released a new track with Disney Superstar turn actress and singer, the gorgeous Selena Gomez. The track "It aint me" enjoyed some time in most of the charts but it got a special remix treatment from Tiesto which he featured on his AFTR:HRS compilation. Yes, I know, another track taken from that set, if I could I'd feature the whole damn thing on here, it is seriously that good and I can foresee many other tracks from there being released as singles.

Monday Choon: Hardwell feat. Jay Sean - Thinking About You
Jay Sean, the British pop singer debuted in the early 2000's and his major rise to fame happened a little while after that, but for the past 5 years or so he's been relatively quiet and quite frankly many forgot about him. Not sure if Hardwell was in the UK and bumped into Jay doing ballad's at a bar or something but the two of them teamed up for this week's featured track. "Thinking About You" has been out since late October and I've watch the video a few times now, I really like the track. It's something different from bought artist, with Hardwell known for his hard style trance and Jay more of the RnB pop variety so for the two of them it must have been a bit of adjustment but they sort of found a nice middle ground for the track. It's quite catch and has a great music video.

Monday Choon: Sam Feldt & Deepend ft. Teemu - Runaways (Jay Hardway Remix)
Sammy Renders, better known by his stage name "Sam Felft" is due to be in our country in the coming weeks as one of the international headliners for this years Corona SunSets Festival in Cape Town. The Dutch Deep House DJ is becoming quite a well known name in the industry of late with him playing at most of the popular festivals and recently at the Amsterdam Dance Event. His latest single in which he teams up with Deepend and Teemu recently got the Jay Hardway remix treatment and is one of the featured remixes for the single. It gives the song great vibe and tempo and in true Jay Hardway style making it unique,

Monday Choon: Sander van Doorn x Fred Pellichero - The Snake 2016
Some times you just need some hard bass and that's what this weeks featured track is all about. Dutch progressive house legend Sander van Doorn is back with "The Snake 2016" a reword of the 2006 track by Fred Pellichero and it is a banger of note. It was one of the featured tracks on the Ultra Miami Aftermovie and a firm favourite to many who enjoy the progressive scene. The two just rocked the Amsterdam Dance Event this past weekend and should be hitting the road on other tours soon but for now lets enjoy the song.

Monday Choon: Above & Beyond feat Zoë Johnston - We're All We Need (ilan Bluestone Remix)
In celebrationn of ABGT200 which was held in the Ziggo Dome last weekend in the Netherlands, todays featured track is a remix of their single "We're all we need" which was released last year on their Anjunabeats label. Done by Ilan Bluestone, who has done quite number of remixes of their tracks for ABGT200 but not many have been releaased yet. I actually wanted to feature another remix of his but its not out yet so we're going to have to wait for that one but this one is equally good even though it's over a year old.

Monday Choon: Alpharock & 7 Skies - Pull The Switch
Alpharock most famously known for his track FAWL (From Amsterdam With Love) has teamed up with Skies for their brand new track "Pull the switch" and the official 0music video is out and we have it for you here today. Many probably have heard this track before as it's been played by many DJ's in their sets of recent, produced by Maxximize Records and the video done by Spinnin TV, it's a typical Alpharock video done in full animation which shows them flying through the world. It's another epic and catchy track by the Dutch DJ's.

Monday Choon - Ultra Coundown: W&W & Armin van Buuren - If It Ain't Dutch
Wilem and Ward, the Dutch Electro House DJ's are coming back to SA, when they first toured with the first Ultra South Africa, they were not that well known with most of the Ultranauts but they sure won over the crowd with their hard style, fast paced electro style music. They've always been a favourite of mine and particular enjoyed their sets in the ASOT festivals around the world.
They've been doing well with their podcasts, Mainstage and they have built up a large following all over the world. This weeks featured track has them featured with Dutch DJ legend Armin van Buuren. Keeping with their Dutch heritage, they song is appropriately named, "If it ain't Dutch" and has been quite popular of recent. The track has a lot of influence by the duo with the master, Armin adding his expert signature style to round it off.

Monday Choon: Dannic vs Tom & Jame - Clap
Dutch DJ Dannic teams up with fellow countryman Tom and Jame to produce this weeks fetured track. Dannic who's most famous for colaborating with world number one DJ Hardwell on his latest single, Survivors has been busy touring, playing at major festivals such as Tomorrowland, Tomorrowworld currently, Ultra and Creamfields to name a few. He's certainly one to watch out for in the future of electronic dance music.

Monday Choon: Hardwell ft. Harrison - Sally
If you were at Ultra South Africa a few weeks back you would have heard Hardwell playing this new track of his featuring Harrison, if not you probably will hear the radio stations pumping this on out on the airwaves quite regularly as its been play listed into most of the shows. It's something new from Hardwell, bringing a mix of EDM and Rock together, so far, people seem to like it. A Few years back Avicii tried his own hybrid of genre's by fusing Country Music with his Dance music and with that abomination of "music" lost himself many fans, including myself, I hope Hardwell is just experimenting and doesn't see this as a way to get rich quickly, and kill his music into the commercial segment like ol Avicii did. I like this track, its got the right mix of rock and is a nice track to listen to, hence it's featured today. Plus the girl in the video kinda looks like Charne Jade Slee.... or is it just me?

G-Star Raw Durban
Last night I attended the official store launch of G-Star RAW in Durban, the popular American clothing brand has teamed up with singer and producer Pharrell Williams to bring out their exclusive "raw for the oceans" range. These include garments made from bionic yarn, which basically is recycled plastic that has been dumped into the oceans. How is this possible though? Well the process is quite complex where they take the fibres that make the plastic and transform them into durable textile for clothing.
The items in the range are quite cool and the comfort and feel of them is just as good as any of G-Star's other products. The Gateway store, although small has a wide range of products from their denim which includes an awesome floating display warehouse on the mezzanine level which can be seen on the trade floor of the double volume shop.
The launch it self was brilliant, with many of the who's who in Durban present and I also spotted most of the local fashion bloggers and trend setters of Durban. I for one don't consider myself one but it was nice to get their perspective of the brand and clothing range, plus the sushi and cocktails were an added bonus. The shop is pretty great and as said has a wide variety of G-Star RAW products, so next time you're in Gateway pop by to see for yourself.
