Monday Choon: Nicky Romero & Sick Individuals - In My Head

We're going to get a lot of new tracks dropping in the coming months following the official start of festival season after things kicked off in a big way at Miami Music Week and Ultra Miami. First track that caught our radar is today's featured track from Dutch sensation Nicky Romero who teams up with fellow countrymen Sick Individuals for their latest release "In My Head", the song almost has two sort of sides to it with the opening vocals and beats giving it that big room sound with heavy bassline and strobes but as the song progresses you get the feel of the Nicky Romero element coming in, it hits you with the melodic chorus and then that carries the track through. It's definitely a banger for us and one you will be hearing a lot during the festivals coming up.

Monday Choon: Afroki - Everything You Do (ft. Aviella)

Afroki see's the collaboration between two heavy weight DJ's and Producers in the EDM world. Dutch DJ Afrojack teams up with American DJ Steve Aoki to form the formidable Afroki. Making their on stage debut at EDC Orlando last November, South African audiences got a taste of it a couple of weeks ago at Ultra South Africa. The high energy set with bespoke tracks combining the best of both styles proves to be a festival winner. Their track "Everything You Do" encapsulates that, with a mixture of trance, house and big room techno sound. The song features the vocals of Aviella that transitions well with the production, the bass line has a progression through out the track from the first part to the second part and not repetitive like you'd normally be used to on most tracks. I thought this was brilliantly done and gives the song a better sound. It's the first of what will be many from the duo, one which I'm looking forward to seeing what they have up their sleeves for the future.

Monday Choon: Cassö x RAYE x D-Block Europe – Prada

I'm trying to figure out the last time I featured a track from the Ministry of Sound record label and truth be told I'm not quite sure but what a way for one of the most iconic names in Electronic Dance Music to make a return to the blog. The featured track "Prada" which is a remix by Casso, of the original track "Ferrari Horses by  D-Block Europe ft. RAYE has been blowing up on the social media platform TikTok with many using it to create their 15 second shorts of content. Some use it just to express their love for electronic music which we love ourselves. The track is true MOS style with high energy, fast synths, throbbing bass line and vibrant vocals. The track is a remix but Casso has transformed it into an electronic masterpiece, hints of old school UK Garage also comes through the track, one thing for sure,  its a banger of note.

Monday Choon: Skrillex, Fred again.. & Flowdan - Rumble

If you heard the murmurs then its time for you to hear the Rumble! British record producer and DJ Fred Again has teamed up with undoubtedly one of the biggest names in electronic music, Skrillex and have come up with something different but at the same time bangs. Going back to the UK Garage and Trap scene, Rumble which was released a few days ago has already been causing a stir online with it already racking up over a million views in the space of a few days on YouTube. The high energy, high bass track has a trap based rap over the beats with the speedy synth. It's quite a catchy tune and a track that's going to do amazingly well, so don't forget, you heard it hear first.

Monday Choon: Mau P - Drugs From Amsterdam

At age 14, Dutch DJ Mau P found an unconditional love for dance music which saw him effortless channel his musical skillset, raw talent and bondless creativity into producing and making his own music. Coming from a city rich in techno and electronic music, he immediately got the backing from people who recognised his talents, now his music is getting noticed across the globe, his breakthrough track "Drugs from Amsterdam" was released two months ago and since has been getting airplay from some of the biggest names on the festival circuit as well as becoming a club banger of note across Europe. There are a few remixes being done of the track by some big name artist, including Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike but I thought I'd give Maurits his due by featuring the original on the blog.

Monday Choon: Veracocha - Carte Blanche (Ilan Bluestone Remix)

Kicking off the new week with a classic from 2008 that's been given a new lease of life from British DJ and producer Ilan Bluestone. Carte Blanche from Dutch duo Veracocha which is made up by Vincent de Moor and Ferry Corsten, an alias they created back then and this track was by far their greatest production. While the original remains one of the cult trance classics, I think its about time someone brought it up to speed to the sounds we're used to at the moment. Besides being a bit more up-tempo Ilan's added a great deep bassline as well as a more progressive sound while still keeping essence of the original track. Even with the music video, it's basically a recreation of the original, I actually thought I was watching the original one until I realised the people starring in it were different! Overall, a great original track and an even better remix, so turn up the volume to this one and get your week going.

Monday Choon: The Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia (UMEK Remix)

UK based DJ and producer Steve Helstrip who is better know for his stage name "The Thrillskeekers" has been around for a little over a decade, his single "Synaethesia" which debuted back in 1999 still proves to be an iconic trance cult classic. Slovenian Dance Music composer and DJ UMEK decided it was time to breathe some fresh air into the track and has released his remix of it. The track still maintains that foot stomping bassline but has a deeper sound to it, with the synths coming in from the background giving the track an uplifting feel about it. The build up is a bit more pronounced now, bringing it up to speed with tracks in this genre at the moment and the drop with the elevated bassline just gets you going. It really is a catchy track and one that should do well with the re-introduction of festivals around Europe this month.

Monday Choon: Will Sparks - Cumon

28 year old Melbourne DJ and Producer Will Sparks has been around in the electronic dance music world for a while, best known for his hit single in 2013 "Bring it back" with Joel Fletcher. Signed onto Armada music, Will has been producing some bangers down under but today's featured track harks back some nostalgic memories for hard trance goers and certainly raises the blood pressure levels making you want to hit the week hard. "Cumon" which was released at the beginning of the month has already garnered quite a bit of interest in the Trance circles and for me, the beat reminds me a lot of Tiesto's Flight 643 which was a proper banger, this track being much deeper, a bit slower and no shortage of that heavy bass undertones. If you're a fan of ferocious techno beats and hard stomping kick drum bass, you're going to want to turn up the volume to this one.

Monday Choon: Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano and YAX.X feat. SABRI - PRAY

With the circumstances we find ourselves currently, we cant do much but to stay at home and pray, hence the song choice for today's track. It's a new release by Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano along with Yax.X featuring Sabri on the vocals. Pray is a house track that's bound to get that foot tapping along to the addictive and catch underlying bass tone that kicks in from the beginning of the track. It's one of the mellow deep house tracks that is easy to listen to but has a bit of kick in it to get your body grooving. What more can we ask for on this Monday, turn up the volume and bass, there is some great build-ups and drops on this one.

Monday Choon: Au/Ra & Camelphat - Panic Room

We got some deep house to get the week going today, British DJ and production duo Camelphat did a great remix of Alternate/ Indie songstress Au/Ra not too long ago. The original by her was released at the beginning of the year, has a more dark sound to it but Mike and Dave gave it a bit of an uplift-ment treatment, keeping the same vibe but adding those deep bass tones and that distinctive Camelphat beat. It's getting some decent airplay on some of the local stations and great track to listen to.

Monday Choon: Duke Dumont ft. Ebenezer - Inhale

Duke Dumont is back with some new music, while most of his new work debuted in Miami during Music Conference, it will take some time before the official releases. One of which that was released recently is this new track of his featuring Ebenezer, called Inhale. It's something a bit different from the deep house producer with the track having more of a feel good vibe, there's a 70's element with the guitar and deep bass focus and the vocals are just a treat. It's a fantastic feel good track and the perfect song to get your week going.

Monday Choon: NWYR - Voltage

If you follow me on Twitter you might have seen me tweet last week that NWYR are probably the best break through artist of the year. Many won't know who they are but are actually no strangers to the EDM game. Earlier this year when the Ultra Miami line-ups were announced, many were surprised to see the exclusion of W&W. The big room specialist who normally are a crowd favourite were not going to perform at the mega festival but later many discovered that they were but under a new alias, NWYR. The Dutch duo created NWYR to be more trance focused and have a heck load of music to share to the world. This has blown open their fan base now, with many trance goers attending their set at Ultra. Their set at the ASOT stage at Tomorrowland was mind blowing, it's so refreshing to see their take on trance, it has so much energy and great tempo, I honestly cannot wait for more new releases from them. Today we have featured their debut single, Voltage which just personifies how electric their music is, do enjoy.

Monday Choon: Tiesto - Boom

It's not quite Monday but with most of the world having the day off yesterday, well the counties which the British colonized, we can pretend it is. Ultra Miami is the perfect place for new releases and many DJ's dropped their latest work, one of which being Tiesto who played his new song "BOOM" which he made in conjunction with Sevenn. He calls its Brazilian bass and it's pretty catchy and he seems to love it as he's been dropping it every where, most recently at the Kings Day Party in Netherlands.

Monday Choon: Baggi ft. Sylvia Tosun - Time Painter

If you a lover of house/ deep house music, I cannot stress this enough, you HAVE to listen to Tiesto's AFTR:HRS mix. Apart from it being one of the best mixes of late, the track list just keeps on delivering. Today's featured track is yet another one taken from the mix and is be Baggi featuring the vocals of Sylvia Tosun. Time Painter is a great deep house track, with chilled melody and soothing voice of Sylvia with just the right amount of that up tempo beat. The official music video was released a week ago and we have it for you today.

Monday Choon: Zara Larsson - Ain't My Fault (Yannik Fischer Remix)

Zara Larsson, the 19 year old Swedish singing sensation who first gained popularity after wining her countries equivalient to og 'Got Talent", since then not only has she been hitting the charts in her home country but around the world to. Zara's voice has mesmerised many, its young and powerful which captivates you from the first word you hear her sing, while she isn't in the EDM industry, this pop sensation was bound to get some of her work remixed, one of her first songs to be remixed and reach global acclaim was "I Would Like" but today's featured track is one of her latest singles, "Ain't my fault" which recieved the Yannik Fischer rework, the DJ from Germany who is quite lesser known had this remix played on Tiesto's Clublife podcast and since the remix has taken off. It's a great remix of a great track and definitely a club thumper of note, so turn up the bass when listening to this one.

Monday Choon: Borgeous, Loud Luxury - Going Under

As we all struggle to get Monday going after the madness of Ultra weekend, there's nothing like some mellow deep house to soothe the mind. Today's featured track is a bit old, but so damn good I had to feature it. Okay it isn't that old, it was released last year in September and no I didn't miss it, at the time when I heard it, it didn't catch as something I'd like but it got embedded in my head and when I recently heard it again, I was like "why didn't I like this song? its fantastic!". It's by American DJ Borgeous who teamed up with Loud Luxury who had their track "say something" featured the other week on the blog. The music video is equally great which is all shot in POV of one crazy island holiday and we have it all here for you.
