Monday Choon: MOTi, Romer T. - Play

Dutch DJ Moti has released a new EP titled "Club Zero Cool" volume 3, along with his new alias Romer T. The EP consists of  4 tracks all of which are inspired by the Old UK Garage sound and it is made with the intention of keeping you moving all night and judging by the first track of the EP which is featured today, it will do just that. The track "Play" will sound familiar to many as it was originally sung by Jennifer Lopez that was released back in 2001! The vibe is exactly on point to the UK Garage scene from back in the day with that deep bass line and fast paced synergy, mixed with the vocals that makes this track so catchy, edgy and great.

Monday Choon: MOTi - Turn Me Up Feat. Nabiha (VIP Mix)

MOTi is fast becoming one of the rising stars in Tiesto's Musical Freedom label, his latest offering bares testament to that. Turn Me Up in the VIP Mix has been occupying the top 3 spot in Beatport charts for the past few weeks and looks like it will be staying there for a while with the rave reviews it's been getting. For those that attended Ultra South Africa a few weeks ago, Tiesto dropped this one during his extended set in Johannesburg and Cape Town. It is a banger of note and a frequently played song on my playlist. It features the vocals of Nabiha which give's it that mellow but soulful style, so listen to the lady and turn it up and enjoy!

Today's featured track is by Dutch DJs Sander van Doorn who's joined by Moti and is due to relese on Friday the 6th but we have an exclusive for you! Having already featured n a number of podcast radio shows, it's easily becoming a favourite amongst the DJ's. Sander also no stranger to South Africa as he has visited in the past and hopefully we will see him again in the future.

Monday Choon: Major Lazer & DJ Snake feat. MØ - Lean On (Tiësto & MOTi Remix)

DJ Snake, more famous for his tracks such as Get Low which is featured on the Fast & Furious 7 sound track teamed up with American DJ and Producer Major Lazer to make the chart climbing track "Lean On" which features vocals from Mo. The song is quite a catchy number and the music video even more interesting as it was shot in India. But as most songs do, this one went under reworks by Moti and Tiesto and the outcome has been phenomenal, Tiesto has played it on almost every set of his in the last month to raptures from the crowd. It's an epic track but made to sound even better by a great produced remix.

With just about 24 days to Ultra SA 2015, we starting our official countdown to the festival with our artist feature Monday Choon segment. We kick off with the young sensation that's taken the world by storm, Martin in the space of 2 years has catapulted himself as a person in the crowd at UMF Miami to one of the worlds biggest DJ's at the moment. He is a success story of note and with him continuing to produce hit after hit, things can only get better for him. I know we already have featured his latest single with Moti previously but this week I thought share the KSHMR Remix. It's wonderfully worked and really gives the track a different sound to it. Monday Choon: MOTi - Lion (In My Head)

When you're starting out at a career, its always nice to work with and seek guidance from a professional in the industry and when it comes to EDM and Trance, theres not many that are as big as Tiesto. Musical Freedom Records which belongs to Tijs is responsible for most of the up and coming DJ's of recent and they're producing some damn good music. MOTi is one of them, started off with more of his remixes and mashups getting recognition and then his colabs with other DJ's but now we're finally getting to see what his all about, the single Lion shot up to number 3 on the Beatport 100 list and is continuing to do well on the charts. It's awesome track and definitely a December pumper!

Monday Choon: Martin Garrix ft. MOTi - Virus

The results from the DJ Mag Top 100 list were released last weekend,  there was no surprise at the top as Hardwell retains the number one spot. The biggest climber in the top was young DJ sensation Martin Garrix, having been in the industry for roughly 2 years now he has catapulted himself to 4th position, moving up 36 places. After seeing him live at Ultra SA this year, you really got to give the kid credit for not only coming up with hit tracks but also the level of energy he brings to his sets are phenomenal. Legends in the industry speak fondly of him and just age 18 he really has a great platform to build his career in the EDM world. This weeks tune is by him and MOTi, it has been played a for a while in the clubs and various podcasts but officially released this month.

Monday Choon: MoTi - Dont go lose it

It's been a busy few weeks for me but rather be busy that sit around doing nothing I suppose, while doing work I love listening to music and one of my favourite podcasts is Tiesto's Club Life. In one of his latest episodes one song caught my intention and I immediately took a liking to it. After searching the track listing I found out this song was done by MoTi, a dutch DJ who's signed onto Tiesto's label, Musical Freedom, after more digging I found out the song was actually produced from a sample used from legendary South African Jazz maestro Hugh Masekela! How's that for a coincidence? Well it could be a coincidence or it could be the inner South African relating to the beats from another of our great nation, but that is a bit far fetched. Here's the song to kick off your week!
