Monday Choon: Sander van Doorn - Ori Tali Ma (BLR remix)

Hard to believe that it has been already 8 years since Dutch DJ Sander van Doorn dropped his instant classic Ori Tali Ma. It become an infectious festival hit with various artists playing it in their sets, be it in major dance festivals, psy trance, techno or just general clubs. The fusion of the the cool African chants became a highlight for many with its heavy kicks and rich percussion. It was unique and echoed a start in the tribal techno scene. Last week Hungarian DJ and producer Vincze Gergely, aka BLR dropped his remix of this cult track and boy has it reignited all those feels from the time the original came out. Vinceze has brought it up to the speed with modern sounds as he's sped the track up with a faster bassline, more kicks and some great techno synths to keep the track true to its original state. It's bound to be another festival banger and I'm sure it was dropped a lot over the past week at Tomorrowland Winter and Ultra Miami.

Bucket Seat: Sander van Doorn - Golden

Dutch DJ and producer Sander van Doorn is back with another banger, this time featuring the American Indie/ Pop band Blondfire in the track "Golden". Erica from Blondfire opens the track with her sultry melodic voice and from there the tempo just has a gradual buildup to a drop that has a hypnotic undertone and fall. It's a great trance track with a bassline line keeps the vibe going throughout the song. It's a bit mellow compared to what we're normally used to from Sander but doesn't take away anything from the track as it is brilliant in its own right. Give a listen and you will see what we mean when we say this track is Golden.

Monday Choon: Purple Haze - Rosy

It's Monday, we need something dark and techno to get the bpm raised to take on the new week, so we thought why not some Purple Haze, no not the drug but rather the artist. Many would know him as Sander van Doorn but the Dutch maestro has an alter-ego under the guise Purple Haze which has been delivering alternative sounds to that of his main platform over the past 3 years to much success. Our featured track is his latest single 'Rosy' which is a progressive techno track with elements of trance filtered through, really one that just builds and builds on emotion as well as before the multi drop.  It's the perfect way to get your Monday and week going so turn up the volume, get the glow sticks out and enjoy.

Monday Choon: Sander van Doorn - 500 (PCM)

Celebrating 15 years in the industry, Dutch DJ and producer Sander van Doorn drops a homage track to his fans for all the support over the years and it a banger of note! The progressive house track is a mixture of his old and new sounds from across his 15 years in the electronic music scene. The official music video shows much of the behind the scenes from Ultra Music Festival and ASOT, which played a big part in bringing up his name in the dance music industry. Sander is the type of DJ who won't forget his roots and its great to see him stick to them when producing new  music like this. The track is released on his own label, Doorn Records and is available now.

Monday Choon: Sander van Doorn - No Words (feat. Belle Humble)

Sander van Doorn, the Dutch producer DJ has come a long way since he first hit the scene. I recall seeing him at Durban's very own Origin nightclub where his style then was a bit more harder and trance like. Over the years his music has took a slight change, for the better? Some might argue not, but for others they would agree seeing that it's more easy going that might even make commercial radio play, not saying he's gone full commercial but the music can be played. Anyway, we have his latest track "No Words" featuring the vocals from Belle Humble, the music video is quite awesome as well, featuring the sights of India.

Some times you just need some hard bass and that's what this weeks featured track is all about. Dutch  progressive house legend Sander van Doorn is back with "The Snake 2016" a reword of the 2006 track by Fred Pellichero and it is a banger of note. It was one of the featured tracks on the Ultra Miami Aftermovie and a firm favourite to many who enjoy the progressive scene. The two just rocked the Amsterdam Dance Event this past weekend and should be hitting the road on other tours soon but for now lets enjoy the song.

Monday Choon: Ummet Ozcan ft. Katt Niall - Stars

Ummet Ozcan, the Dutch-Turkish DJ has been a rising star on trance in the past 2 years. He's been supported by many of the big names in the electronic music industry, from the likes of Sander van Doorn, Armin van Buuren and Tiesto and now seems to be doing big things going solo. I've heard many of his sets from the ASOT festivals and the guy is certainly doing great a job, today we have his latest single featured, with the vocals of Katt Niall.

Burning Man 2014

Many of the modern day festival goers talk about Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival or Electric Daisy Carnival as some of the best they've experienced but theres one that only those that attend know of how great it is.

Burning Man festival in the USA has been in existence since 1986 and is a week long event that is held yearly in the Black Rock Desert in Navada. It attracts all sorts of people, the weird to the rebel and if you're lucky you may just spot some Victoria Secret Models as our very own Candice Swanepoel has attended the past two years.

The event is described as an experiment of community, art, self experission and music. Some of the structures put up are amazing to see but when the festival culminates, all burns to the ground with it. It's truly one of the most amazing things you will witness if you do attend but it's only for the daring.

One week in the dry, hot and dusty outlands of Nevada with no sign of civilization for 100's of kilometeres isn't for everyone but the event has proven to be quick a success with them having to cap the attendence to 50,000 due to safety reasons. Today's Monday choon isn't a song but a video by dutch DJ Sander van Doorn capturing some of his moments at this years event.
