Monday Choon: Lucas & Steve - Push The Feeling On

 

Dutch DJ duo Lucas & Steve have revived the legendary track "Push the Feeling on". The original track which was released in 1995 by the Nightcrawlers became a cult classic in the clubs and has been remixed by many, but this is the first time it has been redone and after having a listen to it a few times, Lucas & Steve have done a great job by bringing up to the modern sounds of today but retaining the main framework of the song that made it great. Monday Choon: Tiësto & Soaky Siren - Tantalizing

 

The much-anticipated track “Tantalizing” by Tiësto, featuring Bahamian artist Soaky Siren, is poised to make a big impact. Officially releasing on November 8th and already available for pre-order, the track captures the pulse of Afro House, expanding Tiësto’s range and spotlighting Soaky’s vibrant vocal style. Known for his genre-crossing artistry, Tiësto’s recent dive into Afro House taps into the genre’s rise on the global dance scene, where the rhythmic, percussion-driven Afro House sound has rapidly gained fans worldwide.

Monday Choon: Tiësto - Lay Low

 

Dutch DJ'ing legend Tiesto dropped his latest single and the first of 2023 titled 'Lay Low'. It's a house track which is not all that uncommon from him and is featured on his latest studio album "Drive" which also features tracks like 10:35 and Hot In It. Tiesto said recently that the album 'Drive' took on a completely new direction with him embracing house music genre more in his production. The track features a deep house sound with melodic undertones and spacey choral vocals. It is a great track from the icon and definitely sets the tone for what we can expect from him going forward this year. 

Monday Choon: Tiësto - I’ll Take You High

 

Just over a month ago Tiesto dropped 5 brand new tracks which formed part of his latest EP. At first he posted snippets of each track on his Instagram and asked his followers to vote which one he should release first, but later that week he surprised us all by dropping all five at once! All tracks are unique to him and his sounds over the years, with him collaborating with various artists on them. For me personally, this track "I'll Take You High" just struck a chord with me, it was reminiscent to his previous trance style sound, with that heavy bassline line and drop. It brought a smile to my face to see that Tiesto still hasn't forgotten his roots in the EDM industry and still can produce bangers for the electronic world such as this. The flow and rhythm of the track will get you going from the start to the end. While I do enjoy this one, there were two others that I was contemplating to feature as well, all five tracks on the EP are great and well thought, I mean coming from someone of his caliber you wouldn't expect anything less.  

Monday Choon: Tiesto & Karol G - Don't Be Shy

There seems to be no stopping Tiesto, the Dutch Trance music legend just celebrated his 750th episode of his weekly podcast "Clublife" last week and just a week before that dropped his latest single "Don't Be Shy" featuring Karol G. The 52 year old who also became a father for the first time in the past year seems to be loving life at the moment with much of the US clubs and festivals slowly opening up, he has a lot planned for the rest of the year. This track takes on a bit of different style and has similar sounds to what was used in his London Sessions album but with a more pop sound to it. The track has a catchy bassline and backtrack but has that unmistakably Tiesto sound to it. The music video is brilliant as well, themed around the movie Night at the Museum, really gives you a experience on its own.  

Monday Choon: NERVO, Tube & Berger - Lights Down Low

 

The NERVO twins are back and this time they've joined forces with German based duo Tube and Berger for their latest offering "Lights Down Low". The song which was released last week has already been hitting the charts with a bang, the track is a really hype up kind of feel with a classic 80s disco beat. The sexy house track has a lot of retro elements to the track from the bassline to the syths which gives it that nostalgic feel to it. The up-tempo beat keeps things groovy throughout the track with the vocals just elevating that classic sound. It's definitely a track that will get hopes up on this blue Monday so turn up the volume and enjoy!

Monday Choon: Antoine Delvig - Techno 99

We getting the week going with some dirty bass courtesy French DJ Antoine Delvig. The Electronic House DJ and producer has just released this banger on Tiesto's Musical Freedom records titled "Techno 99" and it's an absolute killer. Mixing his styles of deep house along with electro, incorporating that dirty bass sound, in a mish mash that blends and works so beautifully, there isn't much not to love about this track and its the perfect song to get the adrenalin going at the start of the week. So turn up the volume and enjoy!

Monday Choon: David Guetta & MORTEN - Save My Life feat. Lovespeake

That crazy Frenchman is back, David Guetta has been one of the most engaging DJ's this year, from his live stream sets to his charity drives while being in the US. He's been hard at work collaborating, making new music during this tough year and in doing such has gained a lot of respect by me especially. I wasn't a fan of his because I felt his music was targeted too much at the commercial market instead of the fans which grew to love him in the early stages but it seems David is rediscovering his roots but also opting for different sounds, like todays featured track, "Save My Life" which features Danish DJ Morten. The track has a synonymous Big Room sound to it with the heavy bass undertone but a mixture of the techno beats and vocals by Lovespeake, brings the track together for an awesome product. It's a proper banger of note so turn up the volume and enjoy! 

Monday Choon: Tiësto & Vintage Culture – Coffee

 

After a very successful release of his London Sessions Album a few months ago, Tiesto is back with some fresh new music, this time mixing it up with progressive house with a mixture of his cult trance sound. Today's featured track "Coffee" see's the Dutch legend team up with Brazilian DJ Vintage Culture and the sound is epic, the track hits all the right notes and has that mellowed out feel to it a perfect note to get the week going. 

Monday Choon: ILLENIUM, Jon Bellion - Good Things Fall Apart (Tiësto's Big Room Remix)

Tiesto has been mulling over some new work for some time now and while his focus may seem to be the mainstream gig, there is some old Tij left in him and it's evident in today's featured track. Illenium and Jon Bellion's track 'Good Things Fall Apart' got the Tiesto "Big Room" treatment and it's a banger of note! Has a lot of elements from Tiesto's Red Lights album of which I personally was a big fan off. Yes I know many still wish he would go back to hard trance but I think he's still got ideas for that and you see it in his work with new artist on his Musical Freedom label, but for now we can enjoy this one, so turn up the volume. 

Monday Choon: Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman x Dzeko - The King

Swedish DJ and producers Dimitri Vangelis and Wyman team up with well known Canadian DJ Dzeko for this killer trance track titled "The King". Released on Tiesto's Musical Freedom records a few weeks ago, many can pick up quite a few Tiesto notes from is old school productions in the track. It's been a popular track on the scene and one the Dutch legend has used a lot in his live sets of recent. It's a catchy track that's quickly gained popularity even though it has only been released for a few weeks, it has been played for quite some time on the scene. The only difference is now we can enjoy it on our playlists. 

Monday Choon: Tiesto & Dzeko - Halfway There ft. Lena Leon

I must admit, I was like an impatient kid waiting for this song to officially be released. I must have tweeted Tiesto a few times as well as left comments on his Instagram posts asking when he would release this track and its finally here! So whats so special about this track? Well, even though I am a massive fan of the legendary Dutch DJ, I have to admit that most of his latest stuff, while might have been tolerable wasn't what we knew him for. He was straying too mainstream to the brink I given up hope on him, that was until his set at Tomorrowland last year, he played this song after just 3 minutes and you knew immediately, Tijs was back! It isn't the legendary trance sounds that we were used to but was trance none the less, and it was perfect. I'm sorry I ever doubted you Tiesto, thank you for this track and please make more music like this!

Monday Choon: Niels van Gogh - Pulverturm (Tiësto's Big Room Remix)

It's hard to believe than it has been over 20 years since German DJ Niels van Gogh released his hit song Pulverturm. Since then it has been an all time club classic with many remixes and mashups to the song. Fast forward to present day, legendary DJ and producer Tiesto decided it was time to revitalize this track with some Big Room sound and boy is it as fresh AF! He has been playing on his clublife podcast as well as his live sets from late last year but the track has been officially released last week and available on all streaming services. We got it for you today so you can enjoy this masterpiece by the legend. 

Monday Choon: Breathe Carolina & SLVR - Headshot (feat. TITUS)

We're big fans of Breathe Carolina on the blog and most of their stuff is heavy dance and electro, this time though they did something a bit different with SLVR and Titus. Headshot is the title of the track and I heard it first on Tiesto's Clublife, makes sense since he own the record label its been released on, Musical Freedom. The track has a heavy deep bass vibe to it with deep tones and a bit of rap in between, the favourite part for me is the vocals and the melody of it, I wished they could have highlighted that a bit more but overall it's a great track and a definite banger! 

Monday Choon: Chocolate Puma & Firebeatz - Blackout

Dutch heavy weight DJ and Dance Music producers Chocolate Puma and Firebeatz have combined to bring us a cracking track of note! The track is being released on Tiesto's Musical Freedom record label is already available on the various streaming applications, it's already proving to be quite popular and why not? It's been featured on various podcasts since it's release and is sure to blow up this season. Titled Blackout, it has a brilliant synergy of where both groups come from, with that high bass line but for me the background vocals make it with the tempo build up as the track progresses. 

Monday Choon: Borgeous - Famous (feat. Morgan St. Jean)

US DJ and music producer Borgeous unique style of electronic music has earned him a good reputation in the industry. Having signed with two major labels doesn't do him any harm as well, with both Tiesto's Musical Freedom and Arman van Buuren's Amarda music backing him carries massive weight. His latest offering is like one that you've probably heard before, but never really took note of the time but when you hear it again you take note and want to find out who made it. It really is an awesome track and the vocals by Morgan St. Jean just make it that more special. 

Monday Choon: CID & VINNE - Take Your Place

Grammy awarding winning DJ Carlos Cid better known as CID has teamed up with Vinne for his latest track "Take Your Place". It's a great mix of progressive and future house with lots of bass and high pitch transitions and synths. Perfect sort of track to give you a boost of adrenaline when you need it. The song is proving to be quite a hit as well, being played on various podcasts and DJ sets. It's released on Tiesto's Musical Freedom Label and published by the guys at Spinnin', definitely a banger track of note. 

Monday Choon: Tiesto - I Like It Loud

It's that time of the year where new releases just flow like the Amazon river and with Miami Music Week being just over a week ago, it normally is the best place for artist of the electronic genre set their new work free. Tiesto is one of the many who dropped a bunch of new singles at the Ultra Music Festival, one of which was officially released a few days after, and we have it for you now! I like it loud, which see's him team up with John Christian is a track many EDM lover would find familiar as it samples a song by the German group Scooter, the original song was released 9 years ago, it crazy to think where time has gone! It has been given a revamp and brought up to speed with today's sounds, and has cut out most of the lyrics, but you never know if a few months down the line it's re-released with lyrics. I'll be honest, I was big fan of Scooter back in the day, and after listening to both versions, I prefer the original but maybe this one will grow on me.

Monday Choon: Moska - This Is House

Moska, the house DJ from Colombia fell in love with Dance music by watching a Sensation White video in Amsterdam at the age of 14. He has come a long way from hijacking his family PC to create his own music, to where he is now. He just dropped his latest offering onto the world stage and it is a banger of note! The track titled "This Is House" follows a familiar rhythm and beat to a popular Fat Boy Slim song but has enough character to make it great in its own right. 

Monday Choon: MERCER - Encore

Encore by Mercer is one of those songs you'd hear a bit of in a DJ and set and a bit somewhere else and it will bug you because its really cool and insanely catchy so it will get stuck you your head. I wouldn't call it an ear worm as it's far from being annoying but it really is a great track. The song itself was released in October this year with many remixes following, one of the better ones was by Afrojack and SAYMYNAME, which was a bit of a hard style adaptation of it. The song in its original form is still a power song for me and hence it's this weeks choice of the week.
