Monday Choon: Tiësto, Becky Hill - Nothing Really Matters

As we all know Dutch DJ legend Tiesto likes to mix around and collaborate with various artists from around the world. He's been experimenting with his genres for the better part of the decade and creating  some interesting tracks. Following his announcement of his upcoming album titled "The London Sessions", where he's seeking inspiration and collaboration with some of the UK's underground and garage scene. One of those tracks is today's featured one, he has collaborated with English singer and songwriter Becky Hill. Nothing Really Matters is one of four songs written for Tiesto last year, this track has been worked on and tweaked for this end product. The music video was released last week and sends a strong message for our current predicament worldwide, dealing with this pandemic.

Monday Choon: Tiesto & Dzeko - Halfway There ft. Lena Leon

I must admit, I was like an impatient kid waiting for this song to officially be released. I must have tweeted Tiesto a few times as well as left comments on his Instagram posts asking when he would release this track and its finally here! So whats so special about this track? Well, even though I am a massive fan of the legendary Dutch DJ, I have to admit that most of his latest stuff, while might have been tolerable wasn't what we knew him for. He was straying too mainstream to the brink I given up hope on him, that was until his set at Tomorrowland last year, he played this song after just 3 minutes and you knew immediately, Tijs was back! It isn't the legendary trance sounds that we were used to but was trance none the less, and it was perfect. I'm sorry I ever doubted you Tiesto, thank you for this track and please make more music like this!

Monday Choon: Lucas & Steve x Brandy - I could be wrong (Club Mix)

There was a time where most DJ's were out to remix almost every 90's song they could find, some of them were good but most were really bad and the only reason they were doing it was to get some sort of recognition as people would think it's a familiar sound they were hearing but it really did them no service. Lucas & Steve seemed to have found a 90's RnB track by Brandy that they felt needed to be brought back and truth be told, it's damn good, while what they've done with their track is great, their Club Mix elevates it a lot. I heard the track first on Tiesto's Club Life show and it was one of those songs, that while you're listening to it, you know its a banger.

Monday Choon: Tiesto - I Like It Loud

It's that time of the year where new releases just flow like the Amazon river and with Miami Music Week being just over a week ago, it normally is the best place for artist of the electronic genre set their new work free. Tiesto is one of the many who dropped a bunch of new singles at the Ultra Music Festival, one of which was officially released a few days after, and we have it for you now! I like it loud, which see's him team up with John Christian is a track many EDM lover would find familiar as it samples a song by the German group Scooter, the original song was released 9 years ago, it crazy to think where time has gone! It has been given a revamp and brought up to speed with today's sounds, and has cut out most of the lyrics, but you never know if a few months down the line it's re-released with lyrics. I'll be honest, I was big fan of Scooter back in the day, and after listening to both versions, I prefer the original but maybe this one will grow on me.

Monday Choon: MERCER - Encore

Encore by Mercer is one of those songs you'd hear a bit of in a DJ and set and a bit somewhere else and it will bug you because its really cool and insanely catchy so it will get stuck you your head. I wouldn't call it an ear worm as it's far from being annoying but it really is a great track. The song itself was released in October this year with many remixes following, one of the better ones was by Afrojack and SAYMYNAME, which was a bit of a hard style adaptation of it. The song in its original form is still a power song for me and hence it's this weeks choice of the week.

Monday Choon: Tiësto & KSHMR - Harder ft.Talay Riley

This song has been stuck in my head for most of the weekend, its the new one by Tiesto and KSHMR and while it's not officially released yet there are many fan made videos on YouTube, the video below is taken from his live set at Ultra Miami. It's a brilliant track and I can't see the Dutch maestro out doing himself this year with any other song. It was first played at Ultra Miami during his sunset set where he had KSHMR join him on stage. I'm not sure when the song will be released officially but judging by the reception its getting already, its sure to be a chart topper, listen to it for yourself then you'll know why

Monday Choon: Tiesto - On My Way

It's been a while since we last featured the Dutch maestro on the blog, it just goes to show the new talent that is making its way onto the circuit. Tiesto is back though, with his new song featuring Bright Sparks "On My Way". The song has been out for a while now with him dropping it just towards the end of last year and getting loads of play earlier this year. The official music video dropped last month and is pretty cool as it features fans from around the world who were selected to join the legend for his birthday at Hakkasan in Las Vegas. The fans were asked to vlog their journey to Vegas and meeting up with the DJ for his celebrations, its a nice feel good song to get your week going.

Monday Choon: Loud Luxury & Ryan Shepherd - Something to Say

This one is a bit of a throwback for a Monday, and honestly one of the hottest deep house tracks out at the moment. Loud Luxury and Ryan Shepherd have taken a vintage Craig David track and done something really special to it. "Fill Me In" was one of those cult favourites from his debut album "Born to do it", since then not much of his work could stand up to that album so much so, 17 years later the songs still sound great. In the age where Deep House culture is growing ever popular, the track has made a come back thanks to Loud Luxury and Ryan Shepherd, first heard on Tiesto's AFTR:HRS mix, this track is growing ever popular on the circuit. It was officially released about a week ago with the official music video dropping just four days ago, so it's still hot and we got here on the blog!

Monday Choon: Tiesto ft. John Legend - Summer Nights

It's no secret that I am a big fan of Tiesto, besides his legendary status, I do enjoy the music he produces and he exerts a certain energy that I relate to and enjoy tremendously. In the same breathe, I can tell you I'm a massive fan of John Legend, he's really one of the stand out R&B stars of late and his voice reminds you of that old school sound but with such a great flow that it sends you into a state of calm. With two such talented individuals teaming up, you know the end result is going to be great, this is the first time the two have collaborated in produces a track, but it's not the first time they've worked together as Tiesto's Remix of John's "All of me" was the best selling remix of the track. Summer Night's is just as epic and is bound to be another chart topper and judging by the reaction it got after EDC Las Vegas where John came onto stage during Tiesto's set to sing, it's heading there fast.

Monday Choon: Embody feat JAKL- One Thing

London based Embody teamed up with JAKYL for today's featured track. I first heard it on Tiesto's Clublife podcast and thereafter many others. It's got a great beat and quite catchy with the lyrics which makes you like the song almost instantly. It's already play listed on my phone as one of my current favourites. I trust you'll enjoy it just as much if not more.

Monday Choon: Promise land - Rebound

I'll be straight up and honest, I have know idea who Promise Land are or where they're from, what type of music they make or where they play but one thing I know that this song is a killer! I first heard this song on Tiestos Clublife podcast but at that stage there was no name of the artist given and so the search began, not only by me but many others on the internet and last week the breakthrough finally came. We found out who was behind this song and here it is!

Nari & Milani are back! The Mexican duo who are signed onto Tiesto's Musical Freedom Records have released the 2016 edit of their hit track The Creeps. You've probably heard it before on Tiesto's sets and he even dropped it at Ultra SA 2016. It's an awesome track and a personal favourite of mine at the moment, so turn it up loud.

Monday Choon: Domenic Furfaro - Future Funk ak9 Edit

If you like me have no idea who Domenic Furfaro is, rest assured you're not alone. The relatively unknown DJ hails from an off road country town in Western Australia. His specialty is progressive house and he's been leading the Aussies with this regard. His featured track today "Future Funk" was played on Tiesto's Clublife episode 465 of which I picked up on it and quite enjoyed. It's the AK9 edit and it has that certain something to it that could make it a one of the better tracks being lately. It's certainly sitting well with me as it's been added to my playlist.

Monday Choon: MOTi - Turn Me Up Feat. Nabiha (VIP Mix)

MOTi is fast becoming one of the rising stars in Tiesto's Musical Freedom label, his latest offering bares testament to that. Turn Me Up in the VIP Mix has been occupying the top 3 spot in Beatport charts for the past few weeks and looks like it will be staying there for a while with the rave reviews it's been getting. For those that attended Ultra South Africa a few weeks ago, Tiesto dropped this one during his extended set in Johannesburg and Cape Town. It is a banger of note and a frequently played song on my playlist. It features the vocals of Nabiha which give's it that mellow but soulful style, so listen to the lady and turn it up and enjoy!

Their latest single features Ellie Goulding on the vocals and is a current favourite on many of the playlists. Michael Calfan also seemed to be a fan of the track and added his own twist to it with his remix and it's nothing short of brilliant!

Monday Choon: Tiesto - Red Lights

This is the week we've been waiting for people, it will be the biggest electronic dance festival to hit our country and they're packing big name artist! For the past 5 weeks we've been featuring some of the big name performers that will be playing at Ultra SA and this week its time for the big daddy, the legend, and I can go on with superlatives to describe this guy but none will do him justice, there's a reason he's playing out the show on both days, because you always save the best for last!

Tiesto may not be the number one in the world any more but he is one of the highest earners in the business and that just shows you how in demand he is. He just turned 45 but does't show it, perhaps partying for a living is the secret to youth? After seeing him play live 4 years ago, it changed my perception of him, every praise he gets is truly worth the word said. The energy is exudes while on stage is mind blowing, he sends that energy to the crowd and keeps it going till the end. If you haven't experienced it yet, prepare to get your mind blown! His radio show Club Life is one of the most downloaded podcasts at the moment and I personally am a huge fan of it. Today's featured track is his latest single, red lights which has been doing pretty wells since its release, enjoy!

If you missed it, here are the DJ line ups for both Cape Town and Johannesburg, if you are attending, be safe and most of all have a blast!

Monday Choon: Tiesto ft. Kyler England - Take Me

The King of EDM is back! He's previous releases have been good but his latest offering featuring vocals from Kyler England harks back to his previous material, the song is pretty epic and has been featured on his Club Life episode 318, 319 and 320! My favourite choon at the moment as well!
