Monday Choon: Jason Ross & Kill The Noise Feat. Sarah de Warren - Under Pressure

American DJ and record producer, Jason Elliot Ross is no stranger to the blog as many of his tracks have been featured in the past. His unique style of electronic music has captivated us and when he collaborates with other big names in the industry, the end product is always near faultless. On today's featured track we see team up with fellow American producer Kill The Noise and British vocalist and song writer Sarah De Warren. The song is a melodic masterpiece with a steady build up with techno and trance beats, enhanced by the calming voice of Sarah which transitions to mellow break that is the prequel of an epic drop that has hints of dubstep to it. It's an all round fire song from the trio and one that we love.

Monday Choon: Deadmau5 - Strobe (KREAM Remix) with Frank Ocean

We ended 2021 with a KREAM Remix and we're starting off 2022 with another one, either it seems we've struck a liking to the Norwegian DJ duo style of music or they're making some banging music. I'll put it down to a bit of both. This time round they've taken an iconic track from Deadmau5, Strobe and given it their remix / mashup treatment and included some lyrics from Frank Ocean. The track has such great synergy that it doesn't even feel like a remix but rather a rework. The beats and synths that were added onto the original fuse great with that iconic sound that Joel brought us, the tempo and BPM of the track has been increased a bit but the vocals still keep it melodic. It's an awesome remix of a great track and definitely the sort of vibe we want to kick off the new year with.

Monday Choon: Skrillex, Starrah & Four Tet - Butterflies

Skrillex is back but its not the Skrillex we're used to know as his sound has completely changed, to be honest not quite sure what his new sound is any way as the tracks he is releasing all have different vibes. Today's featured track featured Starrah and Four Tet however lends its self more onto the electronic dance side, so many are guessing this is the direction he has taken. It already has been played on most of the major Dance Music shows and DJ podcasts and has gathered quite an interest. The sounds are new and refreshing compared to the old hardstyle, dubstep stuff we were used to from Skrillex. The song has an amazing flow and the vocals really elevate it and make the song quite catchy. The bassline line is strong and the undertones balance out the track perfectly, if this really is the type of sound Skrillex is heading to, we going to be getting some awesome new music from him.

Monday Choon: Krewella - Live for the night (W&W Remix)

It's 2014 and the countdown to this years most anticipated music festival has begun! In just under 31 days, some of the hottest names in EDM will be gracing our shores to bring us 2 mind blowing parties for Ultra South Africa. To celebrate this, the Bucket's Monday Choon in the build up to #UltraSA will be featuring artists that form part of the line up to this incredible event. Phase 2 of the performing artists was unveiled late last year with a mixture of the very best internationally and locally, phase 3 which will be announced some time this week will be the last addition to an event that already has many counting down the days till February 14th.

This weeks featured artists are Krewella and W and W.

The electronic band made up with the two sisters, Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf along with their producer Kris Trindl was formed in 2007. Their style of music is a fusion of dance, electronic, pop and dubstep. Although being around for 7 odd years it was their performance at last years Ultra Music Festival in Miami that catapulted their fame around the world with Billboard stating "Krewella are going to be HUGE!". They're not far off, every new release fro them have been a hit and after me finding them a bit too commercial at first, can't wait to see them perform at Ultra South Africa.

Willem and Wardt from the Netherlands are possibly the biggest rises in the EDM world, their music is more harder, faster style than what we're used to from the Armarda label but boy do these guys know how to get a crowd going. They were by far my favourite artists from ASOT600 and their sets in Mexico City and Kuala Lumpur were stand outs. It was from then I was itching to see them live and Ultra SA is making that possible.

Todays featured track is a song by Krewella that has been on here before but today it has the help of W&W with the remix.

Monday Choon: Skrillex - Bangarang

I know, I said Im not a dubstep fan but since this is getting sooo much air play on the radio I actually caught myself enjoying it and in all fairness it is a good song. Skirllex featuring vocals by Sirah on this track in a way drifts away from the hardcore dubstep-ness just like his track with the Doors, thus making it more friendly for radio play.
