Bucket Seat: Sander van Doorn - Golden

Dutch DJ and producer Sander van Doorn is back with another banger, this time featuring the American Indie/ Pop band Blondfire in the track "Golden". Erica from Blondfire opens the track with her sultry melodic voice and from there the tempo just has a gradual buildup to a drop that has a hypnotic undertone and fall. It's a great trance track with a bassline line keeps the vibe going throughout the song. It's a bit mellow compared to what we're normally used to from Sander but doesn't take away anything from the track as it is brilliant in its own right. Give a listen and you will see what we mean when we say this track is Golden.

Monday Choon: R.I.O. & Madcon - Shine On

Switching things up this week on the Monday Choon, we've been trancing hard for the past month or and today we have a bit of a different jive coming your way courtesy of Madcon and R.I.O. We all know Norwegian duo Madcon from their hit single Beggin' back in 2010 (yes its been that long), they've revived a club cult classic from German DJ duo R.I.O. The original track has that reggae electronic vibe, sort of the Bob Sinclair era when he remixed some of Bob Marley's older work, Madcon have come in and gave it a new spin to bring it up to speed to today's feel. The lyrics might throw you off as they changed Trenchtown to Cape Town but the music video is shot in the USA, at least the mother city gets a mention.

Monday Choon: NOTD - Been There Done That (Toby Green Remix) ft. Tove Styrke

When it comes to electronic music, remixes play a major part to most of the tracks as you will get DJ's remixes popular commercial and pop tracks, giving them a bit more tempo and a beat that you can dance to. There's no shame in making them either as most of the top DJ's started off their careers by remixing tracks. While it has been a long year and many tracks being released, I'm going out on a limb and claiming today's featured track as the Remix of the year. Danish DJ and producer Toby Green has provided a brilliant Remix to NOTD's track Been There Done That, once you listen to it you'll get why I say this. The beat starts from the get go and builds on from there. It's the perfect track to get the week going.

Bingo Players - Love Me Right (Bingo Players x Oomloud Club Mix)

Dutch dance and electro musical project Bingo Players have been one that I enjoyed when they were in their prime from 2011-2013. After the passing of one of the members, Paul Baumer of cancer in 2013, the surviving member Maarten Hoogstraten laid low for a while but decided to carry on with the project in honor of his late friend and we're glad he did. It's been a while but Maarten has begun releasing some tracks and today's featured track "Love Me Right" has that unmistakable Bingo Players sound, the original track was released in July this year, but has been given a Club Mix treatment by Bingo Players and Oomloud and is ace, enjoy the track as well as the official music video for this mix.

Monday Choon: Ku De Ta x Joe Stone - What You Do (feat. Sylvia Mwenze)

London DJ duo Ku De Ta are back with another cracker track, you'll remember most of their work being remixing or reviving older electronic tracks by adding their unique style. One of their popular tracks "Just be good to me" was released in 2016 and still is a favourite of mine. Their latest offering features Joe Stone and Sylvia Mwenze, titled "What You Do". It has a familiar beat with some elements of UK garage hidden in the background. The fusion of the beats and the vocals really is aurally pleasing and is one of those tracks that you can groove to very easily, the perfect track to ease into the week.

Monday Choon: Chocolate Puma & Firebeatz - Blackout

Dutch heavy weight DJ and Dance Music producers Chocolate Puma and Firebeatz have combined to bring us a cracking track of note! The track is being released on Tiesto's Musical Freedom record label is already available on the various streaming applications, it's already proving to be quite popular and why not? It's been featured on various podcasts since it's release and is sure to blow up this season. Titled Blackout, it has a brilliant synergy of where both groups come from, with that high bass line but for me the background vocals make it with the tempo build up as the track progresses.

Monday Choon: CID & VINNE - Take Your Place

Grammy awarding winning DJ Carlos Cid better known as CID has teamed up with Vinne for his latest track "Take Your Place". It's a great mix of progressive and future house with lots of bass and high pitch transitions and synths. Perfect sort of track to give you a boost of adrenaline when you need it. The song is proving to be quite a hit as well, being played on various podcasts and DJ sets. It's released on Tiesto's Musical Freedom Label and published by the guys at Spinnin', definitely a banger track of note.

Monday Choon: Lucas & Steve x Brandy - I could be wrong (Club Mix)

There was a time where most DJ's were out to remix almost every 90's song they could find, some of them were good but most were really bad and the only reason they were doing it was to get some sort of recognition as people would think it's a familiar sound they were hearing but it really did them no service. Lucas & Steve seemed to have found a 90's RnB track by Brandy that they felt needed to be brought back and truth be told, it's damn good, while what they've done with their track is great, their Club Mix elevates it a lot. I heard the track first on Tiesto's Club Life show and it was one of those songs, that while you're listening to it, you know its a banger.

Monday Choon: Alyx Ander & Redondo - Casually (feat. Maria Z)

Not sure why, maybe its the old in me coming out but I'm seriously enjoying these new dance tracks which have old school nostalgia tempo and beats to them. Take for example today's featured track by Alyx Ander and Redondo, the beat could easily be mistaken for an 80/90's R&B track with Mariah Carey on the lyrics but its not, it's actually a brand new release and features the vocals of the oh so fine, Maria Z. This just goes to show the variants in the EDM world, with fusion of other genre's in there that can transform music from one spectrum to a complete other. While I am a fan of electronic and trance, I don't mind these sort of tracks every now and then. The music video is pretty cool as well, take a look and listen.

Monday Choon: Joe Stone - Let's Go Together

Maurice Oude Booyink, better known as Joe Stone is a Dutch DJ and producer who's signed with Spinnin' records. He's music has been around from the early 2015's but not much has been heard from the DJ in the mainstream circles until now. He dropped his track "Let's Go Together" in October and has been receiving airplay from all over, including Tiesto who played the track on his weekly Clublife podcast. The track is a great electro track with an 80's style sample, the music video has that Miami Vice Theme too it as well. It's a great track and certainly one to look out for.

Monday Choon: Fedde Le Grand and Dannic vs. Coco Star - Coco’s Miracle

This cult classic of the early 2000's was one of the hottest tracks in clubs world over, Fragma's "Toca Me" later turned "Toca's Miracle" wasn't just a hot track but had a damn hot music video if I might say so myself. 15 year's on since then, the track has been updated and released again. the re-work done by Dutch power house DJ's Fedde Le Grand and Dannic and features the original vocals by Coco Star on the track. While the original track had that electro house vibe, this latest release has taken a more chilled tone with a deep house melody. The official music video is also out and plays around the popular social media dating app, Tinder. Enjoy!

Monday Choon: Bob Sinclar feat. Akon - Til The Sun Rise Up

Remember Bob Sinclar? Remember Akon? Nope this isn't Throwback Monday, the two legendary artist of the past decade have come out of hiding and teamed up for a new track and its great! We all remember Bob from classics like "When the sun goes down" and also remixing some of Bob Marley's greatest hits. His latest offering "Tel The Sun Rise Up" features American-born Senegalese singer Akon who was also another popular figure in the past decade but seemed to have dipped under the radar for the last 5 odd years. The new track has a nice tropical house to it with a reggae style vocals to it. It's one of those feel good summer songs that will cheer you up from whatever mood you're in.

Monday Choon: Vicetone - Collide ft. Rosi Golan

Dutch DJ duo Vicetone consisting of Ruben Den Boer and Victor Pool from the Dutch city of Groningen have release their new single "Collide" . The lyric video was just released two days ago, so it's still pretty fresh! With the duo signed onto Spinnin Records, one might have heard this song played before in some podcasts of recent, it features the vocals of Israeli songstress Rosi Golan. The singer who is now based in Brooklyn, New York has released two LP's and one EP so far and this is one of the first time I've seen her delve into the world of EDM. He voice quite suits the genre and I hope to hear more from her.

Monday Choon: Merk & Kremont - Sad Story (Out of Luck)

Italian DJ duo Federico Mercuri and Girodano Cremena, better known as Merk and Kremont have a new track out and it is fire! Many would know them from their hit Invisible which soared through the charts earlier this year. Their latest offering delves more into their chilled deep house side and one hell of  catchy melody. I first heard the track when the official music video was released on the 12th of this month. Since then its been stuck in my head and I had to feature it on the blog. It's certainly one of my favourite songs at the moment and the music video is pretty awesome and features South Korean internet sensation Ko Hyojoo dancing on her skateboard.

Monday Choon: Don Diablo - Cutting Shapes

Today's featured track is a bit of a throwback, the song was released last year in Ocotber but still is pretty popular at the moment. Dutch DJ and producer Don Diablo took the Aaron Smith classic Dancin' and gave a new spin on life with a rework of the track. As I said it's been pretty popular amongst most DJ's as many still feature the song in their live sets at many festivals. It's a great track and just the type of song you'd want to get the new working week going.

Turkish DJ Ummet Ozcan is becoming a regular on the EDM scene, with his music being supported from the likes of Sander van Doorn, Calvin Harris and Tiesto to name a few. He's signed onto US Label Spinnin records and has done pretty decently for himself over the years. His latest release see's him team up with Chris Crone who provides the vocals for today's featured track. It has a great sound to it with the drop very much similar to what we were used to with Avicii.

Monday Choon: KSHMR & Tigerlily - Invisible Children

The first time I heard about today's featured artist was when he teamed up with Tiesto and Vassy to produce the track "Secrets" which did incredibly well. There after I never really researched him or his music, but he kept popping up in various collaborations, one of which I quite took a liking to was his track with Shaun Frank featuring Delany Jane titled "Heaven".  It was then I took notice of his sets at the various festivals and loved how he infused classic Indian music with electronic music. I've heard the likes of R3hab doing it but his take on it is near perfect. Niles Hollowell-Dhar, better known by his stage name KSHMR is who I've been talking about if you haven't gathered, he's an American DJ, producer and is from Berkeley, California. If you haven't heard of him yet, you will do quite soon!

Monday Choon: Florian Paetzold - Easy

The weekend after the Durban July is always a struggle, partying in the nations warmest city during winter is always a blast but I use the term "warm" very loosely as the temps were much higher than the other cities but still bitterly cold! It's time to kick off the new week with a slightly chilled and mellow track from Florian Paetzold, called "Easy". The German DJ from Osterwieck isn't that well known but he has worked with some big names in the business by remixing tracks by Jyau & Albert,
Micar and PHIL to name a few. Released via Spinnin records, Easy is doing pretty well on the Beatport charts and the official music video just dropped last week.
