Monday Choon: Martin Garrix & U2 - Fireflies

Martin Garrix's "Fireflies" with U2 is a collaboration that feels both natural and refreshing, blending Garrix's cinematic electronic production with U2's unmistakable stadium-rock identity. Bono's soaring vocals and The Edge's signature guitar work are perfectly complemented by Garrix's polished, atmospheric sound, creating a track that is both emotionally uplifting and festival-ready. Rather than competing for the spotlight, the two artists build on each other's strengths, resulting in a powerful anthem that showcases the remarkable synergy between one of dance music's biggest producers and one of rock's most iconic bands.

Monday Choon: Martin Garrix & Saksham - Ain't Letting You Down (feat. Scott Quinn)

Martin Garrix has been creating some masterful work over the past year and it's worth noting since he featured on the Ultra SA aftermovie for this year, which could hint he could be a repeat headliner next year. He recently play at Red Rocks in the US and debuted his track "Ain't Letting You Down" which features Scott Quin and Indian medical doctor turned music producer Saksham. It's a typical Garrix feel good track with a heavy piano back track courtesy of Saksham with Scott Quinn's vocals tying it up to conclude a musical masterpiece.

Monday Choon: Armin van Buuren x Martin Garrix feat. Libby Whitehouse - Sleepless Nights

When one of the oldest Dutch Trance DJ's collaborates with one of the youngest Dutch Trance DJ's, you know the track is going to be fire! Martin Garrix who previously teamed up with Tiesto for their track "The Only Way Is Up" and it was mega, this time round Martin teams up with the Trance master, Armin van Buuren for their track "Sleepless Nights" with Libby Whitehouse on the vocals, it is a proper Trance style track with some echoes of the early 2000's vocal trance styles. The melody is catchy, the beat is epic and its one of those tracks which gets you going and you'd want to listen to on repeat.

Monday Choon: Martin Garrix & Sem Vox feat. Jaimes - Gravity

This weekend saw the Amsterdam Music Festival take place, a yearly event that attracts the best that the Netherlands has to offer in terms of electronic dance music. On Saturday at the main stage saw the reveal of this years number 1 DJ as voted by the fans in the DJ Mag Top 100 and it was a local which had the crowd present in raptures, it was none other than Martin Garrix, today's featured artist. It's his 5th time reaching the top of the charts and it's well deserved as he's been churning out some great music for us to listen to and his live sets are so well orchestrated, full of energy and just a pleasure to watch unfold. Last year at ADE Martin played a 3 hour set, this just goes to show his commitment and love for what he does. Today we feature his latest track "Gravity" in which he teams up with Sem Vox and Jaimes. It's a typical Martin Garrix track with high symphonic notes,  heartfelt vocals and a melody that will enchant you.

Monday Choon: Martin Garrix & DubVision - Empty (feat. Jaimes)

Dutch DJ and Producer Martin Garrix has a knack of playing tracks on his sets, the tracks becoming popular but releases them further down the line with a set of vocals on it. His latest offering is no different with the song featured today. "Empty" was first heard at Ultra Miami last year and played in mash up with his track Ocean featuring Khaled but since then he has played it every set, including his mammoth 3 hour set in Amsterdam late last year. The track was official released in the second week of March and is a collaboration with DJ duo DubVision and features the vocals of Jaimes. The track is very much the Progressive type house music we've come to know and love from Martin, its the type of music that uplifts and gets people moving which is why his sets are often the most sort after at large music festivals. With Ultra Miami happening this weekend, we're pretty sure we will hear this banger along with many others from him during his set.

Monday Choon: Martin Garrix & Dyro - Latency

It's Ultra South Africa week! This Friday see's the biggest electronic dance event on the continent kick off things in Cape Town at the Ostrich Farm before making it's way to Johannesburg at the Nasrec Expo Center. Today we feature a firm Ultra SA favourite, Martin Garrix as he returns to make his 4th appearance headlining at Ultra South Africa. His track featuring Dyro is our pick ahead of this weeks festivities, its a song that for me shows what Martin Garrix's music and style is all about. His mixtures of techno and hardstyle is a fresh rendition of the music of today. He's had some notable collabs over the years which seen him mature into the artist he is today. While he has headlined the first three Ultra South Africa's, this time round we're going to experience a different sort of Garrix and personally I cannot wait.

Ultra SA 2017 - Phase 2 Line up

If you missed it earlier this week, Ultra South Africa released their phase 2 line up for the much anticipated event next year. Following on the announcement from a couple months ago of the two major headliners of Martin Garrix and David Guetta, this week organisers lifted the lid on the full line up that will grace the main stage of Ultra South Africa 2017. International superstars Dash Berlin, KSHMR and DJ Snake will join David Guetta and Martin Garrix on the main stage with support from the likes of Black Coffee, Felix Jaehn, Headhunterz and Nic Fanciulli round out the highly anticipated Phase Two lineup for UltraSA 2017.

Dash Berlin returns for a second year running, being one of my favourite DJ's from this years Ultra, I'm glad to see his name on the lineup again. This Dutch trance veteran has been contributing to the international scene for over a decade. He's worked with icons such as Justin Timberlake, Usher, N.E.R.D and Lenny Kravitz to name just a few. His performance at Ultra SA 2016 blew the crowd away, so expect Dash to bring the Energy levels to a peak at Ultra in February next year!

Niles Hollowell-Dhar, better known as KSHMR (pronounced Kashmir)was awarded "The Highest New Entry" on DJ Mag's Top 100 list and has since moved up 11 places this year to the No. 12 spot. His music is a mixture of high energy electro and classical Indian which he fuses to make a unique and high tempo beat. KSHMR has played at almost every major festival so it's great to see the American producer make his way to South Africa and get the crowds going to his live act, which will take them to a whole new level.

DJ Snake needs no introduction to the South African crowds, while this will be his first visit to the country, the French DJ and record producer's music has been quite popular around the country for a few years now. His last major chart climber "In the middle" is still played on some local radio stations and his recent collaborations with megastars such as Justin Bieber and Major Lazer just escalated his cult status. Crowds can look forward to him play a range of his unreleased future hits at Ultra South Africa as well.

The support line is also one that is worth a mention and also one which I am quite looking forward to. Headhunterz have been on the scene for a while now and have featured on many podcasts of leading trance and dance shows. His his name is William Rebergen and hails from the Netherlands, his hard hitting energetic sets is what makes him so special and crowds can expect a lot from him. Next up, Felix Jaehn, the prodigal German tropical house DJ and producer that went number 1 in 20 countries with his remix of OMI's cheerleader will bring a summer sound to SA that will surely get the girls dancing and the boys smiling.

Lovers of a deeper sound will be glad to know that the Resistance stage is back! After the success of this years Ultra, it was a no brainer for the organiser and the line up is going to be equally hot has Main Stage. First up we have Nic Fanciulli, he needs little introduction after completing a truly successful Resistance world tour in 2016 with Ultra Worldwide. Anyone who watching him on the Resistance stages around the world or was at the legendary Space Ibiza closing party will know exactly how good this British DJ and producer is at getting a dance floor going long into the night.  Join him on the Resistance stage is none other that South Africa's own Black Coffee, undoubtedly one of the biggest exports to the world from the SA dance scene, you can catch him again as he lights up the night with his beats next year.

The local support act line up is pretty insane as well with some big name DJ's on the list.

Timo ODV - Pascal & Pearce - DJ Fresh - Euphonik - Crazy White Boy - P.H - DJ Milkshake - DJ Shimza - Vigilante - DJ Dimplez - Kyle Watson - Strange Loving - Mark Stent - Ryan Murgatroyd - Vimo - Chunda Munki - Kyle Cassim - Yeti - Dean Fuel - Household Funk - Saubomb - Ricardo Da Costa with more to be announced closer to February 2017.

Monday Choon: Martin Garrix & Bebe Rexha - In The Name Of Love

South Africa is currently on a high after finding out the first two headline acts for Ultra South Africa 2017, one of those is the much loved Martin Garrix. He is making his 3rd appearance on the Main Stage for Ultra SA and he has said before that this particular Ultra holds a dear place in his heart as it was the first time he performed on Main Stage at an Ultra event. This week's featured track is by the young Dutch maestro which is a collaboration between him and American singer, song writer and producer Bebe Rexha. The result is outstanding with a modern take on a love song with an electro twist. The music video was just launched last week and we have it for you today.

Ultra SA 2017: Phase One Headliners

With Early Bird tickets selling out in a flash, the wait was on for tier 1 tickets to go on sale yesterday but along with the second wave of ticket sales , organisers dropped the names of two of the headliners that will be gracing the Main Stage next year at both Cape Town and Joburg shows.

First up we have David Guetta, it will be the first time for the Frenchman to play at Ultra South Africa. Having visited the country over five years ago it was about time he made a come back. He has had many hits over the past few years, being one of the firt DJ's to excel in the commerical sector with many of his tracks making the top 40 charts on various radio stations. This earning him a cult status and saw him catapult his career, since then he's played at many major festivals as well at this years opening and closing ceremonies at Euro 2016. He is no stranger to the Ultra family as he is a regular at Ultra Miami and also recently played at Ultra Europe. South Africa has much to look forward to from him.

The second headliner needs no introduction, Ultra South Africa will always hold a dear place in his heart as it was the first Ultra Music Festival he played at and was such a hit first time round that they brought him back the very next year. Who am I talking about? None other that the prodigal son Martin Garrix! The young Dutchman is back after skipping last year and was actually brought back because of high demand by you the fans. Yes, such is his talent, he has continued to make multi-platinum tracks and play on the main stages of all the major festivals. I'm sure he is just as excited to be back in South Africa next year.

Monday Choon: Martin Garrix - Poison

There's no stopping this kid, hit after hit, he keeps them coming. His latest single Poison was released for free at the end of October and still till now it's one of the most requested songs on most of the shows and podcasts He played the song live at an outside broadcast of the MTV EMA's this year and it continued success on his tours and at ADE. It would have been nice to see the Dutch DJ'ing sensation for a 3rd time at Ultra next year but maybe it's time for a solo tour from him to the country.

R&B singer "The Weeknd" has been blowing up of recent and his latest single "Can't Feel My Face" is ever popular on any radio station and features on most of the Top 40 charts. Good ol Martin Garrix decided to take this track an spice it up a bit in his own unique way and boy does it sound good. Monday Choon: Martin Garrix vs Matisse & Sadko - Break Through The Silence

Last week we brought you part one of a two part music video song feature by Martin Garrix, Matisse and Sadko. Today we bring you part two of that, entitledm"break through the silence. The song has already hit most of the charts and the music video being just released last week, it is already becoming a firm favouritre amongst EDM and Trance music lovers. There seems to be some controversy over who is responsible for the vocals as no information is given about them but regardless of that, it is an amazing track with epic production value.

Monday Choon: Martin Garrix vs Matisse & Sadko - Dragon

Martin Garrix really needs no real introduction any more. The Dutch sensation has been entertaining crowds world wide with this electric sounds and fast paced melodies. His stuff is always new and fresh, what makes him even more great is his ability to work with others on tracks so well. Whether he's colaborating with a big name like Tiesto or lesser known DJ's like today's featured song, Matisse & Sadko, he still manages to help produce a song thats of the same calibre. Dragon seems to be part 1 of a music video story with part 2 being another song by this colab, entitled Break Through the Silence.
